Can't sign in to my android device

I recently bought a new phone. When I logged in to the new phone using the app, it just open the ebay main page. I didn't have a problem with this on my previous phone.

Issue Description:
After installing the eBay app and logging in, a popup page appears (see Screenshot 1).

 

This page displays “Sign in and Security” with a close button (X) on the upper left (see Screenshot 2).

 

When I log in, it seems that I am only logged in within this popup page (see Screenshot 3). If I tap the X button in the upper left corner, I am immediately logged out.

 

This behavior happens entirely within the eBay app and prevents me from staying logged in.

For anyone asking, this is the problem.

It’s sad to hear. I’ve posted the problem with screenshots, and hopefully someone can resolve the issue for you. That’s the only thing I can do on my end.

Yes, this is the same problem for me. But I couldn't screenshot it or record a video because of android security or app security.

By the way, what version of eBay are you using now?

Since I just followed the suggestion to reinstall it today, I believe it's the latest version; version 6.223.0.5

Same as mine. It's strange, my version yesterday was 6.226.0.5, which was the September 16 update. But when I checked the Play Store, the current version is 6.223.0.5. I guess they're rolling back updates to fix the issue. Check for updates and hopefully it fixes the error.

I’m not sure if this is still relevant, but I encountered the same issue again after switching to a new phone. After spending some time troubleshooting, I discovered that the problem was caused by the 2 Step Verification setting.

To resolve it, open your ebay account on browser and navigate to Account Settings then Sign in and Security. From there, you can either disable 2 Step Verification or switch from the Authenticator app to app notifications.

Thank you im able to sign in now in ebay app. My phone is Samsung A56 and i have been struggling to login for weeks. I just disabled the 2 step verification from previous phone. Then i cleared ebay app data in samsung. When i try to log in i used the text temporary password to my number. And it worked.

My new phone is also a Samsung A56. I just followed alne-4439's suggestion to login to my ebay account through a browser, disabled the 2 step verification, and then signing in to my ebay mobile app. After finally signing in, I just reactivated my 2 step verification to add security.
