App not working - update required

Just tried opening the app on my android phone and get the message "this version is no longer supported. Please update to the latest version".  Pressing the "update" goes to Google play but the only options are "Uninstall" or "Open" - no option to update. Pressing "Cancel" closes the app.

I suspect they pushed a new version of the app to deal with the changes introduced overnight but something has gone wrong somewhere.

Anyone else got this issue?

Why is my device Oukitel C32 not compatible with the Ebay app? Uses android 10. This is absolutely pathetic from Ebay.

I think I may have a solution to this problem.

If you’re buying or selling on eBay, you will no doubt get emails from them containing a link to the item you’re buying or selling.

When you do get an email with the link to your item, click on the item link and it will take you to your item.

As the eBay page opens, you will see the annoying message, ‘Update Required’

DO NOT click ‘EXIT’ button within the ‘Update’ box, but simply go back to your email message and click the same item link and you should be taken to your eBay item minus the ‘Update Required’ message.

It’s not a permanent fix, but it should give you access to the app.

Yes ive got the same problem just keep going round in circles saying its not compatible so looks like I'll l be using amazon from now on.

Yes got same problem, exactly same as you i have Android 9 and up . I have Samsung SM G955F 

and it says am compatible but still wont up date

Ebay app stopped working as it said your device isn't compatible.

When you do get an email with the link to your item, click on the item link and it will take you to your item.

I've just checked and managed to download the ebay app from Google play
store. It wouldn't let me do that before. Make sure your phone has the
latest Samsung update and give it another try.

that does not work, i contacted ebay customer service about this problem and they are basically not interested. if you have an android 10 phone or older they have cancelled you, i put it to them that all other buying and selling apps work fine on older phones and only ebay does not work. this is either just down to lazy programming or trying to push people to buy new phones but just as i have done most people just got rid of the app so its an own goal by ebay.

I am 73 years old and cannot afford to buy a new phone i have been an ebay
customer for years, as i cannot afford a new phone i am just going to go
somewhere else to purchase items that i want and its a shame because i like
ebay, but if other sites can let my phone update latest updates why cant
ebay do the same.

It is not a solution as it does not work, only ebay technical can sort this but they are not interested.

I have an iPhone 6s and it works ok for me.

As I mentioned, it’s not a permanent fix, but it will get you on the eBay site minus the Update message so long as you follow the instructions I have set out.

Not working for me either, £1200 phone bought off eBay (Xiaomi Ultra 13 1TB 16GB updated with Xiaomi EU English software).

Online banking and Vinted works fine... but apparently 'my phone is not okay - for eBay'

Yes not available on my Huawei phone but only on my computer..maybe because my phone is old!?

it does not matter how old your phone is, it is not up to ebay to dictate when you get a new one. and i bet all other apps work fine like amazon etc.

And there you have it, you are using an iPhone but this is android phones and your solution does not work.
