I think I may have a solution to this problem.

If you’re buying or selling on eBay, you will no doubt get emails from them containing a link to the item you’re buying or selling.

When you do get an email with the link to your item, click on the item link and it will take you to your item.

As the eBay page opens, you will see the annoying message, ‘Update Required’

DO NOT click ‘EXIT’ button within the ‘Update’ box, but simply go back to your email message and click the same item link and you should be taken to your eBay item minus the ‘Update Required’ message.

It’s not a permanent fix, but it should give you access to the app.

that does not work, i contacted ebay customer service about this problem and they are basically not interested. if you have an android 10 phone or older they have cancelled you, i put it to them that all other buying and selling apps work fine on older phones and only ebay does not work. this is either just down to lazy programming or trying to push people to buy new phones but just as i have done most people just got rid of the app so its an own goal by ebay.

It is not a solution as it does not work, only ebay technical can sort this but they are not interested.

I have an iPhone 6s and it works ok for me.

As I mentioned, it’s not a permanent fix, but it will get you on the eBay site minus the Update message so long as you follow the instructions I have set out. 

Not working for me either, £1200 phone bought off eBay (Xiaomi Ultra 13 1TB 16GB updated with Xiaomi EU English software).

Online banking and Vinted works fine... but apparently 'my phone is not okay - for eBay'

it does not matter how old your phone is, it is not up to ebay to dictate when you get a new one. and i bet all other apps work fine like amazon etc.

And there you have it, you are using an iPhone but this is android phones and your solution does not work.

I am on Android 14 the app was working fine until I done a factory reset of the phone.
Now I get "This app won't work for your device".

I Don't understand why. Can anybody help me please. Thank you
