Good point soppy and how many of them follow the Highway Code ! I have seen cyclists even in dark mornings with no lights and some even going through red lights.
Now if a cyclist goes through a red light and gets hit it is the car drivers fault ! How can that be when one is breaking the law and the other is adhering to the law by moving off when the light is green ?

It all boils down to the number of police on our streets.
Not enough coppers to enforce the law and a justice system that ensures the villian gets off.
Maybe if the punishment fitted the crime more people would obey the law.
Rumour has it that Butlins turned down the contract to run Her Majesties Prisons as they where considered to be too upmarket for Butlins.

They use the roads and even have special lanes marked out for them but contribute absolutely nothing towards the costs involved through road tax.
. . . and pedestrians - they have pavements, traffic islands, speed bumps and even their own little red and green men!

Installed for the safety of the foot soldier, and to safeguard them from being mown down by King car. The initial cost, and the subsequent maintenence and upkeep, paid for via the council tax.

Only the unclassified roads - trunk routes, (such as the one I live on), are 100% financed by central government, A roads 50%, and B roads 30%. This includes the cost of street furniture and pedestrian walkways and pavements.

Odd that no one mentions all the extra tax now paid.
By people paying for the same months twice.
