Yes, the selfish and argumentative need a good borroxing! I bet a lot of them already have more than enough in, larders bulging and freezers packed solid.
Presumably a reaction by some to fear and anxiety about a threat they can't see, but thank goodness not all are selfish. It's all a bit Mad Max goes shopping in some supermarkets.
We hear about the community spirit during the war but in this crisis I am shocked at the behaviour of some and utter stupidity of others.
I think in general people are showing more anger in recent years, especially between generations. I blame the media for their constant references and pigeonholing of different age cohorts - boomers, gen X, millennials, gen Z etc. I'm sure it fuels anger and frustration between them, and of course social media too makes it worse. It's not nice to read things like covid19 being the Boomer Remover, and other derogatory remarks that go both ways.
There have always been generation gaps but I think it was far less vitriolic in the 'good old days'. They weren't all good though, No generation has had a super easy time without anxiety about something whether world security, employment, lack of fairness, gender equality etc., and maybe it's my imagination but it seems to me that there is a lot more 'poor me' and 'it's all your fault' about nowadays. There is still plenty to be grateful for and always someone worse off but so many seem unable to be thankful for what they do have.
All that we are is what we have thought.
