The most prominent Politician to oppose events in Iraq dies suddenly leaving a wife and 10 year old son. Thoroughly decent man and victim of Scotlands one party state losing his seat after 30 years.
He will be missed RIP.

I never post on here, except when I'm drunk.
A fine example of a 'foot-in-mouth' moment.
Or alternatively, 'hoisted by his own petard'.

The thing is Embs it helps on here to be reminded of what went before particularly on the rare occasion when a thread goes to a second page.

The Good thing is that Charles Kennedy had a wicked sense of humour as demonstrated by the following Quotes;

I was saddened to hear of his passing away .
I did consider him a politician with a formidable intellect and a respect for principle , he was also one of the "best " panellists on "Question time " , the way he distilled a complicated question , into a smooth flowing articulate answer , was a joy to hear .

Charles Kennedy Death
Following a post-mortem examination, his family issued a statement saying his unexpected death was "a consequence of his battle with alco....
"Ultimately this was an illness Charles could not conquer despite all the efforts he and others made," they said.
I admire the family statement and see it as consistent with the deceased former MP and how he would have wanted it. If nothing else I hope that out of this Tragedy other MPs including all those newly elected SNP warriors, take note and learn.
