Independence referendum should be on the table because Scotland only voted to stay in the UK because they were promised they would not be taken out of the EU.

Well Nicola, I have news for you ! I and many other Scots did NOT vote to stay in the UK because we were promised we would not be taken out of the EU !

We voted to stay in the UK because we knew Scotland could never make it on our own.

Now you want to ignore the voters who voted to saty in the UK because you do not want a government south of the border suggesting what we should do and hand the reins over to a conglomerate of countrys who will dictate what we WILL do.

Get real woman and stand by the DEMOCRATIC decision that was made and help to stabilise the UK and push us forward to become a force in the worlds economy.

I know 1 in 3 ( I think it was about that ) in Scotland, voted to leave; so you have a divide up there, but certainly a substantial number voted to leave. I think it's Ms. Sturgeon that is painting everybody with the same brush.........for her own purposes. She even had talks with the Mayor of London, because they too voted to stay...........so just what discord is she trying to perpetuate. I've been all over these Islands of ours and spent years working in Scotland, I've loved every minute of it and particularly the different landscapes and " The Crack " with the locals. I remember when we were ALL no fools and recognized a common enemy.

The majority of the Scottish people voted to stayin the EU. No-one is saying that everyone in Scotland thinks the same way, but a democratic vote is just that...democratic. Of course there are Scots people who don't think that way, but the majority do....so if that is how they feel, and they have another Indepence referendum, then they will probably leave. There will be unhappy people,just as the are unhappy people in Wales and all over the UK today. No-one is painting all Scots the same way, and it is ridiculous to say so.

As for Unity.....how do you suggest we unite the peoples of the UK now? We have had our referendum and the majority have spoken. Ms Sturgeon has had her referendum...but wants another because it didn't go her way. She will keep bleating about it until she gets another one. If the Scots people don't want a referendum then they have to get rid of her.But it seems the majority do so there you go.

In my opinion SNP got voted in again simply because there was no credible alternative although there has been progress made in cutting the SNP lead.

Hopefully they will not get a 2nd referendum and not be the majority party at the next election.

There is one issue here that everyone has missed....

Its totally irrelevant that 'The Fish' want to stay in europe and want another referendum on independence for Scotland.

They may indeed achieve independence - BUT how on earth do they meet the criteria that allows them to join the EU????

Even if we gave them oil - the GDP of Scotland might be on a par with Turkey and so they would not be allowed into the EU!

Oh God... I just realised the EU said Turkey could not join, so that probably means Scotland could join, just like Greece did,(they did not meet the criteria either), that's why they are in a mess now!

Of course I'm being facetious, Turkey will never join the EU - that's one of the few truths 'remain' did say! BUT what they did not say was Turkey will be given free movement within the EU in return for stopping the hoards of migrants flowing into the EU. So Turks will be coming to a town near you sometime soon!

Membership talks starting again with Turkey in 5 days time - I think it's the finance chapter.

Cameron said they wouldn't be able to join until about the year 3000, other politicians have said they could be in the EU in 10 years.

And, as you say there are other deals afoot, even if not full membership.

Suzie the whole thing was a very clever play on words. One of being adamant that Turkey could not join the EU - totally correct they don't meet any of the criteria - and especially on human rights. However it's all totally irrelevant, Turkey are negotiating for free movement, in exchange for blocking migrants - and that is nearly as good as being allowed to enter as members. The migrant issue is the big issue - from day 1 the EU has not had a clue how to deal with migrants and quite frankly never has had a clue!

What I found with the campaign for stay was it was all very carefully orchestrated, constantly a case of more what they did not say, than what they did say!
