Just brought home a box of 24 Jaffa Cakes from Sainsbury's and the last Jaffa Cake in the first packet is only half-covered in chocolate. My question is how can I use this half-chocolated-covered cake to win me free boxes from Mcvities through use of their consumer services team?

Dear Customer Services rep,
Is this a new version of your usually wonderful Jaffa cake?
Can we expect to see more cakes like this in the shops?
Did McVities do a survey and discover that the ordinary folk of Britain wanted less chocolate on their Jaffa cakes?
Needless to say that I am both shocked and disappointed to see that the Quality Control section at McVities has let the side down.
I await your response before deciding what action, if any, to take.
Yours.

Do not mention that the fault was only on the last Jaffa cake.

Well I've just escalated the case to United Biscuits by sending them brief rapport of my lapsed mental state on account of said cake.

Mitzi ..... As seen on QI, the normal way to differentiate between a cake and a biscuit is to let them go stale and see what happens to them. A cake will harden whereas a biscuit will go softer. A Jaffa thingy goes hard when stale. Ergo, it's a cake.
I rest my case.

I think all the big companies are aware these days.......might get a £1 voucher.
Many years ago I wrote to Weetabix, just a question, not a complaint and received a Weetabix tin full of product. Those were the days !

:O:O:O
Well I tried to treat the OP' to a couple of my MUMS cakes but the computer say's no!
Never said no before on the RT, and I can still upload my pictures on Ebay if I wish to sell something.
Haven't posted much lately, have the rules been changed so we cant? If so what a colourless place this will become IMO.
Thank you.

There was a regular con doing the rounds of a group of students. They'd buy, say, a pack of smoked salmon, eat it and then return the package purporting to be a furious Reverend Williams-Cunning complaining that his monthly whist drive was ruined when people complained of the revolting smell etc. etc. They would then fire off a sincere apology and provide the Reverend with vouchers sufficient to cover three more packs of smoked salmon. However, they eventually ran out of legitimate addresses, and a quick computer check revealed the same addresses were coming up time and time again. They then, took the trouble of informing their rival companies of the con. It died a very natural death. Clever, though.
