Regardless of its true worth, a couple of questions
Why were the gold flakes in a bucket?
How would the thief dispose of them or convert them into spendable currency?

These pans are about 14" across
This is 62 lbs of gold worth approx $1.2 million at todays prices
So 86 lbs is approx a third more

And before any of youse start pointing the finger.................IT WASN'T ME !
I have a 100% stone clad alibi........I was in police custody and handcuffed, at the time the job was pulled.

£1.2m or not, what the heck were the security guards thinking by leaving such an item and truck unattended.
No doubt the person who took it will have more than just the police looking for him. The underworld will be happy to pay him £100k for the gold, although he might be better off if the police find him first.

Being questioned on this no doubt -
The shipping container stolen from the Port of Montreal on Wednesday has been found but the $10 million worth of silver that was inside it is still at large.
The six-metre long grey container inscribed MAERSK was found in Repentigny on Saturday morning, according to the SPVM.
Police are being tightlipped about the heist, but they’re asking for the public's to help them locate the missing loot.

A bucket of gold, left in an unattended vehicle, with the door wide open in a busy street ????
Whilst I would never condone theft, theres a little part of me that hopes he gets away with it. They deserve to lose it.

I hope they never find him.

Funny enough,i put a video together for youtube.Bet that thief thought he had won the lottery (thats if he can get rid of the stuff that is,or become a jewellery maker lol)

Yes these gold flakes will be as much use to him as breasts on a frog.He can't melt it to refinement grade,he can't sell/trade them legit anywhere and will only be able to sell them to a dodgy jeweller who wants to make a fast buck.
Maybe he'll put them up on ebay in small lots-watch out!
