Re: Just a venue.........for thieves

Estée Lauder are really hot on tracking down sellers of their products! They employ cheap agency workers and wonder why they get ripped off! Most products are not stolen but bought for next to nothing in the staff shop....with the caveat that staff will be dismissed if the items are resold. What usually happens is they sell them on to others who list them on eBay! Most 'stolen' goods I think come from the tip...they send batches of products to the lab in Waterlooville for testing...then ditch the batch including unopened products. Their waste is heavily secured now....but theft from there has been a major problem...as well as being a H&S issue! They also dump substandard packaged products too - although some end up in the shop!

The car boot sales around Pompey used to be absolutely awash with EL ....and L'Oreal perfumes and products that are also produced/distributed locally! I could buy La Mer for about £6.....perfumes around £10 for 100ml.....Ultimate Lifting Cream 250ml salon size £25! When they moved the factory to Kite's Croft they lost ££££s of stuff en route and the big clampdown came! You can still find bargains but not in anything like the same quantities!

Most of EL problems come about from employing agency workers ....from their own agency....no doubt for tax reasons and to avoid having to afford them the legal benefits of being properly employed! Having said that....they do give staff a goody box for Xmas....but would probably sack them if they flogged it as an unwanted gift on eBay!!!

Fortune may favour the Brave...but...eBay favours the Buyer!
