A Tory MP worth £110million is raking in £625,000 a year from his hard-up tenants’ housing benefit – despite blasting the “something for nothing” welfare state.
Just last month the MP, 53, said: “The average household spends £3,000 per year on the welfare state. This figure had been rising inexorably and unaffordably.”
You couldn't make it up

650,000 a year gob whos an MP pocketibg tax money and who thinks its his right ,vs a going to prison 58,000 in ten years, paying back frauder ,getting caught .
Also, something isnt right about the 58,000 story as he could have had an accident over the ten years ie claimed not able to walk etc as you need medical proof to back up a claim like that,so I dont see how that can be fraud ? also he may have got better or had pic prior to said accident, and he is being imprisoned for living with his partner whilst claiming living somewhere else ,which is fraud and 58,000 over ten yers housing benefit sounds about right.
Other story sounds right on how a millionair tory sees the world,(I may be wrong ) and that story may be a crock as well 🙂

Cops probe Tory MP over alleged £100,000 benefit fraud
Police are investigating a Tory MP over an alleged £100,000 benefit fraud, it emerged last night.
Peter Bone, 61, has been questioned under caution by detectives as part of a year-long inquiry into whether his mother-in-law’s assets were deliberately concealed while she was in a care home.
Police raided the MP’s constituency home in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, last year and seized documents understood to relate to the investigation.
A file on the case has been sent to the Crown Prosecution Service, whose special crime division is considering whether or not to press charges.

"It costs more than £23 a week, or 29% more in housing benefit, for a council to house a tenant with a private landlord than with a housing association or social not-for-profit landlord, according to the Department for Work and Pensions. Mrs Short added: “It’s time we stopped greedy private landlords living off housing benefit. Instead of subsidising them, we ought to cut rents not benefits, and invest in housing that’s really affordable. Let’s get these people off our backs.”

why does anyone need profit ? has food gone up ? if so why invest any amount to make more ,why does anyone with 6 figures to spare need more ?in fact why does anyone need more money than the cost of living,is there something important happening that needs lots of money.?
If someone puts effort into something and the job they end up with pays for a lifestyle better than someone who doesnt put effort in then thats the benefit of effort,if the better paid person uses the extra money to create work for others who put effort in that improves more peoples lifestyles then 'look a saint'
if they allocate it themselves so they always have enough per year to always live their chosen lifestyle until 'time out' then 'look a clever person'
If someone wants more than they will ever need and has no interest in anyone else and then start to opinionate on why others arn't ''like me'' and accuse others of not being up to much or worthy of life, then ''look in any direction'
Wonders again on why profit is a word 🙂

I think the answer to the question, "why does anyone need profit?", can be answered by another single word, 'incentive'.
26-02-2014 9:33 AM
thats the fella creeky 🙂 incentive ...to what is the question ? If all persons incentives were to live in a nice world for all ,well a knock on effect thats the opposite of what we all live in ...me me me means exactly that,so if thats folks incentive then stories of theft off others will always be around wont they.
hi btw 🙂

In general people work because there is an incentive at the end of the day in the form of a pay packet.
Some invest in companies that provide work opportunities for others because there is the incentive of dividends and stock growth.
Others cary out criminal activities because there is an incentive of getting something for nothing.
Yet more buy properties to rent because of a profit incentive.
Sure it would be lovely if we were all saints and worked only for the benefit of others, "From each according to his ability, to each according to his need"

Here's a bit of info regarding "profiteering landlords".
A friend is now a very old lady and after a stroke is confined to a care home.
She had to sell her house to pay for her care and all that money has now gone.
She also owned another house, a detached country cottage, nothing fancy, just a plain house. It has been let for many years...... The tenant is now "on benefits" and the powers-that-be looked at the housing benefit being paid then reduced the rent to a "fair rent" of £50 a week!!
Is that right or fair?
It's life Jim, but not as WE know it.

"From each according to his ability, to each according to his need"
i like that creeky 🙂
Can I suggesting that the MP'S and governments should be of the saint mindset or not be in the job,If the intension is at the top ...
To CD ,I have no idea what is fair when it comes to allocating rent ,as I honestly don't care about the difference between 50 and 5000,perhaps though its so she kicks them out and gets a private tenant as benefit people should be homeless, starving and pref dead anyway
