BBC News......It is understood the most likely military response to Wednesday's suspected chemical weapons attack would be a one-off or limited guided missile strikes on Syrian military targets fired from US Navy warships.
Mr Cameron has spoken to a number of foreign leaders over the bank holiday weekend, including US President Barack Obama and his French and German counterparts.
The prime minister and Mr Obama agreed the need for a "firm response" from the international community to the attack.
Downing Street said Mr Cameron had used a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin to tell him there was "little doubt" a chemical weapons attack had been carried out by President Bashar al-Assad's regime.
But Mr Putin told him they had no evidence an attack had taken place or who was responsible, it said.

Mr Obama said today: 'What we are envisioning is something limited. It is something proportional. It will degrade Assad's capabilities.'
But he added: 'At the same time we have a broader strategy that will allow us to upgrade the capabilities of the opposition.'
It came General Jack Keane, a former Vice Chief of Staff of the United States Army, said Mr Obama wanted to ‘degrade’ Assad’s military forces while at the same time ‘upgrading’ those of opposition forces to trigger regime change.

So you may have heard Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) all over the US media banging on about, why the US must vote on taking action against Syria, So what was the Senator doing during the hearings about this ?
Well here he is playing poker on his IPhone during a U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations hearing where Secretary of State John Kerry, Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Martin Dempsey testify concerning the use of force in Syria, on Capitol Hill in Washington DC, Tuesday,

Russia’s president, Vladimir V. Putin, told The Associated Press in an interview that the West should not take one-sided action against Syria, and held out the possibility that Russia would support a United Nations Security Council resolution allowing military strikes on Syria if evidence showed the country used chemical weapons.
The interview late Tuesday night came just before a G-20 meeting of world leaders in St. Petersburg, at which Syria will likely be a major topic of conversation, although President Obama had canceled a planned meetingwith Mr. Putin because of strained ties.
‘‘If there are data that the chemical weapons have been used, and used specifically by the regular army, this evidence should be submitted to the U.N. Security Council,’’ Mr. Putin told The A.P. ‘‘And it ought to be convincing. It shouldn’t be based on some rumors and information obtained by special services through some kind of eavesdropping, some conversations and things like that.’’
The Russian leader said that despite his problematic ties with the American president, he was hopeful Mr. Obama would have serious discussions during the summit.
‘‘We work, we argue about some issues. We are human,” he said. “Sometimes one of us gets vexed. But I would like to repeat once again that global mutual interests form a good basis for finding a joint solution to our problems.”
Mr. Putin also again cast doubt on American assertions that the Syrian military would use chemical weapons against its own people while it had the upper hand in the conflict.
‘‘From our viewpoint, it seems absolutely absurd that the armed forces, the regular armed forces, which are on the offensive today and in some areas have encircled the so-called rebels and are finishing them off, that in these conditions they would start using forbidden chemical weapons while realizing quite well that it could serve as a pretext for applying sanctions against them, including the use of force,’’ he said.

Why does the Arabs not put any money in.......... The UK is expected to add to its £348 milllion pound contribution to the relief effort, but the UN has still received less than half the funding it is hoping for from the international community.
Mr Cameron said: 'We are facing the worst refugee crisis of this century and millions of lives are being destroyed inside in Syria by Assad and his regime.
'The world needs to do more to help the innocent victims of this conflict who dreamt of a democratic and peaceful future but who are now living a nightmare far from their homes and struggling to feed their families and keep them safe.
'I will be using the G20 to ensure their needs are heard and to ensure the international community responds.

Iran warns US will 'suffer loss' over Syria 'mistake'
Iran's most powerful authority, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, warned the US was using the chemical attack in Syria as a pretext to "interfere" with the country and said it would "certainly suffer loss" should they make the "mistake" of taking military action. Speaking at the Assembly of Experts, he said:
"In the case of Syria, the chemical attack is a pretext and they say they want to get involved because of humanitarian issues. America has made a mistake in Syria and will certainly suffer loss."

I'll help Syria if the U.S. attacks, says Putin in chilling threat to Obama as G20 summit breaks up in acrimony Russian premier has admitted to supplying arms to Syrian tyrant Putin insists the chemical attack was a 'set-up' by government opposition Backs his stance by pointing out that the Pope is against military intervention Russia last night issued a chilling threat to assist Syria if the US leads military strikes against its hated regime. As a summit of world leaders broke up in acrimony, Vladimir Putin declared openly that he is already supplying arms to Syrian tyrant Bashar Assad and vowed to step up support if a planned missile attack goes ahead. There were gasps as the Russian President made his remarks after being asked how he would react if Barack Obama proceeds with an attack in response to Syria’s used of chemical weapons. Responding to the latest remarks by President Assad, UK Foreign Secretary William Hague cautioned against believing what he said.
"We mustn't fall into the trap of attaching too much credibility to the words of a leader - President Assad - who has presided over so many war crimes and crimes against humanity," Mr Hague said.
The White House has admitted it has no "irrefutable" evidence of Mr Assad's involvement in the August attack, but said a "strong common-sense test irrespective of the intelligence" suggested his government was responsible.
"We've seen the video proof of the outcome of those attacks," White House Chief of Staff Dennis McDonough said on Sunday.
"Now do we have a picture or do we have irrefutable beyond-a-reasonable-doubt evidence? This is not a court of law and intelligence does not work that way."

"If Syria were to put its chemical weapons beyond use under international supervision clearly that would be a big step forward," Cameron told parliament.
Syria welcomes a Russian proposal to place the nation's chemical weapons under international control, Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moualem said on Monday after talks in Moscow, praising the Kremlin for seeking to "prevent American aggression".
Moualem, who spoke to reporters through an interpreter after Russia expressed hope the proposal could avert military strikes against Syria, stopped short of saying explicitly that President Bashar al-Assad's government accepted it.
Or is it too late to stop obama's missiles raining down and toppling assad?
