I suppose it won't be long before there'll be loads of howls about Proportional Representation?
The way I refute that is to imagine a (LD?) team in a long (cross country?) race. They led in every sector, on the flat, up and down the hills, through the woods but on the final few hundred yards of tarmac to the line they were overtaken by another two teams.
By PR reckoning the LD team should have won the race?

Brussels is very quiet.🤔🤔 they must be in shock! And it was lovely to see Westminster on TV yesterday without all those detestable EU flags. And without hearing the 'Stop Brexit' chap yelling!

Yes, I was only thinking that it was nice without that chap who was always shouting when the TV cameras were rolling.

It's a long video. Here's a written transcript of the interview with Peter Robinson.

Seems it's more or less the same there as here then. The Left has abandoned its roots and is controlled by a bunch of extremist lefties and that's why they loose elections.
Their natural constituents recognise them for what they have become, peddling pie-in-the-sky politics that are irrelevant to hard working people, trying to get along in life. But those ordinary, working, tax paying voters have seen it all before. From university these entitled lefties go on to flit about in the higher admin. posts of local authorities, ministries, ngo's and quango's
The "throw money at it until it goes away" policies that rarely work, but cost the workers so much in taxes.
The hypocrisy of these people always "making the hard decisions" about who else's services should be cut (while their own positions are sacrosanct).
They have recognisably become a self-serving cadre that sees their mission as directing the unwashed masses onto the paths of virtue. Levying fines if the masses sort their rubbish incorrectly, because re-cycling is supposed to save Polar Bears. But seeing nothing wrong with their kin down the corridor ripping up the local landscape, exterminating another swathe of the local wild-life to construct their latest ill-conceived vanity project. Both parties dipping into the tax-payers pockets to finance their goals, after conducting a rigged "consultations" with the public.

Brexit is OK

Well the new government has won the vote on the Withdrawal Agreement with a majority of 124.
So there must have been some abstainers or opposition MPs voting FOR it?

I think 10 Tories abstained (being absent from the HoC for one reason or another) and 6 Labour MPs voted with it. None of those were potential leadership candidates.

Why did Boris Johnson win the election?...
Is this the new British revolution?
How will history remember the last Parliament of 2017-19?
Why did Labour lose?....
Why did the Establishment get it so wrong?...
