Mr Farage knows that this is not a deal..it's a Treaty. This is not leaving. Read the Lisbon Treaty. Juncker, Tusk et al were practically dancing yesterday...what does that tell you?

How can anyone have any respect for Jeremy Corbyn? Dismissing a deal before it is even published, scared of an election and can't make his mind up. I used to be a labour voter in times past but he is pathetic.

Re: Brexit never gonnae happen they way you think!

The reason Corbyn and many others dismissed the deal before it was published is because Johnson has spent the last few weeks  removing legally-binding commitments from the Withdrawal Agreement, such as workers rights and enviromental protection, and if you believe that after brexit the tories would reinstate them or strenghten them, well,i've got a bridge to sell you.....

Re: Brexit never gonnae happen they way you think!

Oh silly me thinking that environmental bills, workers rights etc would have to be changed by law through Parliament.

I don't believe that they will be downgraded. Yes I would want the UK to maintain its relatively high standards for the environment, workers and other human rights, animal welfare etc and worry a bit about trade with the US of some food commodities). But I have no reason to believe that standards won't be maintained, not least because the UK has a good record in many areas but also because laws would have to be passed, or so I thought. Do enlighten me Joe if I am wrong.

I cannot help but think that all politicians determined to stop the results of the EU referendum at any cost are clutching at anything to spread doom and insinuate bad intentions by government in the future. I don't see any actual evidence that their "anxious predictions" (more excuses to block any progress, more like) are likely to happen. This is just the start if an exit deal is accepted. There is a vast amount of negotiation and legislation to follow.

Are unions completely ineffectual? Do the public never protest about environmental issues?! Have animal welfare standards been lower than other countries? No, and I don't believe that decent standards are simply down to us being in the EU.

Stay or go, whatever, but like many I'm sick of the political shenanigans and dishonesty.

Re: Brexit never gonnae happen they way you think!

You must realise the tories are no great respecters of employment laws and have always sought to weaken them

",Oh silly me thinking that environmental bills, workers rights etc would have to be changed by law through Parliament" What is to stop a future majority tory government changing those laws? - nothing

the government are also willing to agree with lower US food standars just to get a deal

"The lack of consideration for workers’ fundamental rights looks set only to intensify if the Johnson government gets their way. His Brexit chief, David Frost, has described Brexit as an opportunity to escape the EU’s “heavy labour market regulation”, and criticised Theresa May’s commitment to protect labour rights as part of any ‘level playing field’ Brexit deal. May’s plans were weak enough – but Johnson’s latest ‘plan’ is worse still. We’re now told standards will be allowed to ‘diverge’. As Thompsons solicitors put it: “In plain English, what this really means is that Boris Johnson’s proposals contain no commitment at all to protect… workers’ rights after Brexit, meaning that for workers these proposals are as bad as no-deal.”

Re: Brexit never gonnae happen they way you think!

Thanks for the link, a backed up reply is always appreciated. If we stay in the EU though, there is plenty that needs to be tackled, not least the CAP and Fisheries policies that Celtic said were so good pages ago. Something I could not agree with and which I meant to challenge at the time but life gets in the way. There is a great deal wrong with them which I am too knackered to go in to now, but there would have to be reforms before I could be satisfied with some EU policies like these. Not to mention the huge amount of beurocratic waste of funds.
All that we are is what we have thought.

Re: Brexit never gonnae happen they way you think!

So you think a UK tory government can be trusted to uphold commitments as stated in July 18 with regards upholding EU distributions for,

1.European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development – CAP Pillar 2
2.European Social Fund
3.European Maritime and Fisheries Fund
4.European Regional Development Fund - including European Territorial Cooperation

They don't have a good track record of distributing EU funds to appropriate devolved countries within UK fairly . It took 6 years for Scotland to get the £180 million share allocated to them back then. Gove gave it to English farmers. See our point?

NHS,that'll be sold out too,you mark my words. Donald T and Boris Jokeson. You're having a laugh.

Re: Brexit never gonnae happen they way you think!

In a quote from, what I take as one of their favourite TV shows,

Brexiters
'Don't like it up em'

Their knowledge of Basic English Law, is negligible
No matter What has happened since - Basic Law, still counts, ABOVE precedent
That was the Brexiters (especially the Bombastic Lord Advocate, TYPICAL English Court showman) big mistake, playing legal games and semantics, May work in English Courts
But that goes out the Window, When You are in the Highest Court in the Land - it is the Basic law they go on - that way You argue the Case - Not try and prove, what some Court Has done Before -

Thats Why loads of the Best Advocates - Silks, QCs are Scots Law graduates (never Mind High Court Judges) - In those Degrees -  You learn Old 'French' law (course), English Law is made up of Scots and Norman Laws.

Yesterday I was told

'Some tinpot Court in a Tinpot Country'  <---   Typical Brexiter brain

My Daughter is a Law Graduate - She  studied at Edinburgh - Now works in Dubai
Her Degree means She can handle 'English- US - Commonwealth' Laws
An ordinary legal degree from England could only Do UK
(Scots law spread with the Empire, that was chosen, over it's English counterpart)

So I am Proud my Daughter went to study at a  Tinpot Law University - to study - silly Tinpot Scots Law

The Basis for the LAW in most of the ENGLISH speaking World - incl England

The TORY Attorney General - I meant above

He stood up in Parliament and said - about the Scots case
'a small decision on ONE point of Law'

The same point of Law btw - that overturned Slavery, transportation etc etc etc

He really is a parody of ALL that is wrong with English Law

He even plays the part of, the Gilbert & Sullivan English legal Buffoon to a tee,
especially His 'You just don't understand all the legalities' - answer to questions

Re: Brexit never gonnae happen they way you think!

So Al, you'd rather Scotland had representatives like this to fight our corner? Here's Graham embarrassing himself again.Grieve wasn't even comparing the civil strife from the past in NI on why. He was merely stating why should Scotland not get same deal- they both voted remain. This was something Snp government put forward as a compromise back in Dec 16 but as usual it was ignored.Customs& Single market alignment.

Now idiots like this will be gone from our place come next election just like his other 12 compadres wink

So AYE I think we should free the shackles of WM. Snp are not the whole Yes movement.
