Bought a stolen phone but return window is closed and seller won't respond

Hi, 

 

So couple months back, I bought a phone on ebay. The phone was an ex company phone so it still has that company's system management, so therefore I can't use it as it needs employee login details etc. I presumed it wasn't stolen as I bought it from here on eBay so I asked the company if they could remove their management from the phone which they took months to reply because they kept redirecting me to different offices. They then redirected me to the police who said it's actually stolen and they want me to return the phone to them (the police) to pass it back to the company who owned the phone. Now I'm not sure how I'm getting a refund on this as the return window closed in August of this year. Asked eBay advisor, they said to make a CheckMend report to send to eBay, which came back saying it wasn't stolen but the police say it is, so obviously, that report is not useful as it can't prove it's stolen and it's just a whole mess this situation over a phone. Seller won't respond either.

 

What do I do at this point? I'm pulling my hair out🤣

You are unfortunately out of time to claim with eBay under their 30 day MBG policy,  turn to your payment ptovider now,  see if they can help with a refund.
