Hello to all our old friends and newcomers alike. Welcome to Bill & Charlie's Bar - the place to meet other posters and to sit and chat while you sample your favourite tipple. Plenty to drink, lots of joking but alas no smoking.
We are open all hours (hic) and run a respectable Bar. (Although I argued with Charlie until I was blue in the face over that one!) No swearing, spitting or drun..drunk...drunken beeeehaviour (hic). We have a couple of bouncers to hand ~ she comes in on Friday nights.
Teetotallers are welcome and will be treated as normal. I jest ~ soft drinks are available at the bar along with light snacks. And finally, please use the emergency exit when Bill rambles on about the good ol' days and put plugs in your ears when Charlie 'sings'.
Come on in...:-D

Not bad, thank you, Bill. Though still miffed about the stubborn refusal of my oven to co-operate with me in the effort of cleaning it. Still, on the bright side, I could now get someone in to clean it properly without dying of embarrassment when they opened its door. :^O
Next snipe is, technically, 1869, Tommy. B-)

That reminds me of an incident way back when the country was being converted to natural gas. We were living in a flat at that time and the engineers were busy in the flat below us.
When our turn arrived and they came up to us, one of the engineers was feeling a bit sick. Apparently, when he dismantled the cooker in the flat downstairs he found a mouldy fried egg, green custard and...oh gawd ~ now I feel sick :_|
Better stop there I think. Not suggesting your oven was like that though, Caution 😮 :^O

Any 69 is a snipe, Tommy. It is regarded as, shall we say, an amorous position! 😉
Bill, I was only tackling the inside! :^O Luckily, it is built-in, so anything behind it is not my responsibility!
Having said that, when the bath was taken out, the builders had left all sorts of rubble and junk in the space underneath. Lazy wotsists! X-(
Anyway, I have given up on my cleaning exploits for now as I have just managed to break the Venetian style blind in the bathroom!

Bill, thank you they look gorgeous, I am quite proud of that piccie:8}
****starts welling up***
***sniffles** and wipes tears away.
Charlie, I am loving that sunset bar look, very cool and relaxing, just what we need.
And for those cleaning ovens, the best way is to sprinkle bi-carb over the oven before you go to bed, then wipe with a dmape cloth/sponge next day.... ta-da!!! oven will come up sparkling.
Of course if it is really bad then a second doing will be required with a l"little" elbow grease. It also does the glass the door well too, smae application required as for oven. and this is also less smellya nd perfectly safe to use.:-)

I've heard of using bicarb, Talula, but I read online that it wouldn't be very effective on a major cleaning job.
I don't use any of the cleaners that start with a "Make sure the room is well ventilated" warning. 😮 Seems very hazardous to me. I tried a gel and left it on for 24 hrs (maximum time allowed). Far from perfect results, but an improvement. 🙂

Caution, try it, it is very good at doing it, I forgot to say, you must sprinkle water onto your oven first, then the bi-carb then leave, it doe work, do mine every week with it and now it is a breeze to clean my oven.:-x

Is there any staff in today, or are they on bank holiday entitlement, I am after a hot black one, as have been driking "echo falls" wine with dinner.
It was quite nice seeing as parents were over and I cooked, roast beef it was with yorkie puds, delightful if I do say so myself.
So keep 'em coming barman.:^O

Hi everyone 🙂
Sorry I have been unable to be at the Bar for much of the day. I was expecting some help earlier but the relief column didn't arrive.
And to make matters worse I have been stung by a wasp that took a disliking to me ~ but the feeling was mutual because I didn't like him either.
Hope to see you around later...:-)
