Hello to all our old friends and newcomers alike. Welcome to Bill & Charlie's Bar - the place to meet other posters and to sit and chat while you sample your favourite tipple. Plenty to drink, lots of joking but alas no smoking.

We are open all hours (hic) and run a respectable Bar. (Although I argued with Charlie until I was blue in the face over that one!) No swearing, spitting or drun..drunk...drunken beeeehaviour (hic). We have a couple of bouncers to hand ~ she comes in on Friday nights.

Teetotallers are welcome and will be treated as normal. I jest ~ soft drinks are available at the bar along with light snacks. And finally, please use the emergency exit when Bill rambles on about the good ol' days and put plugs in your ears when Charlie 'sings'.

Safi, don't apologize. I'm well aware that in these kind of circumstances lots of people will come with well meaning advise and options, and it can make things only more confusing and sometimes even harder to make a decision.

This is not a straightforward situation you're in. At the end of the day it's you mum and you want the best for her. I wouldn't want my mum in a home and making that kind of decision would be a very difficult one and not one to make over night.

Sorry that I jumped the gun a bit. If you would still want some info now or in the future let me know. :-x

Hi Harry! And Hi Safi! Just popped in here and read Safi's posts. My heart goes out to her.:-x I know only too well how difficult it can be looking after an older person. The only thing I can say is that there is plenty of help to be had, but if the older person doesn't accept that help then there is one big problem. I've been caring for my Mum for seven years now and haven't had a holiday in all that time. Sometimes it's gets you down. It's like being on a hamster wheel. I would like my Mum to come and live with me, but she absolutely refuses.

Safi....if you get a bad day and want a good whinge.....feel free to mail me! And I bet I can out-whinge you when the subject of 'caring' comes up! But it does help to talk about it and offload sometimes. (Harry....:-x)

Right.....it's a lovely day, so I'm getting up for my tea and toast!

Haven't been in here for a while...............but I may pop back this evening.

Have been taking "How' Mum ?" phonecalls in a what do you want me to say ? she' been running round the street in her nightie , sortah way , since Easter 😞

My favourite bro (although I don't have favourites ]:) ) is going to pop up more often and he makes Mum (and I ) laugh and he's great with the twins too.
