Hello to all our old friends and newcomers alike. Welcome to Bill & Charlie's Bar - the place to meet other posters and to sit and chat while you sample your favourite tipple. Plenty to drink, lots of joking but alas no smoking.

We are open all hours (hic) and run a respectable Bar. (Although I argued with Charlie until I was blue in the face over that one!) No swearing, spitting or drun..drunk...drunken beeeehaviour (hic). We have a couple of bouncers to hand ~ she comes in on Friday nights.

Teetotallers are welcome and will be treated as normal. I jest ~ soft drinks are available at the bar along with light snacks. And finally, please use the emergency exit when Bill rambles on about the good ol' days and put plugs in your ears when Charlie 'sings'.

I turn my back for a while and this is what I get.........maybe he needs a proper incentive.....

Oh dear. Sorry Harry, but we don't allow 'root growing' on the premises 😮

Now, Charlie, you are the very person who may be able to answer a qu I have re hydrangeas.  Do you know whether these are deep-rooted?  They can grow happily in pots, which would suggest not.  But, then again, they like a lot of water, which would suggest maybe they are.

I have 2 I need to take out.  (I took cuttings last yr and these have done really well.)  But, before I start, I'm wondering how much fight they will put up.  Would it be better to get assistance lined up, do you think?

I have found this YT video which might help. I would keep more of the earth around the plant than she does though, wouldn't you?

I hate digging plants up too so assumed you wanted to transplant it. But all plants have a natural life and the new ones take their place don't they?
