I'm unable to view sellers' other items. The link in a listing will take me to the relevant page, but immediately after loading, the entire screen dims. I can't even access my own other items from an active listing, as per the screenshot (the screen is set at max brightness). I have tried getting in via alternative pathways- feedback profiles, shopping basket, even purchase history. No joy.
This problem which was intermittent at first, and confined to business sellers, now seems to be a fixture and includes all sellers everywhere.
I have investigated the usual susects- cleared cache & cookies, logged out & back in, turned device off & on again.
I would be very grateful if anyone can suggest a possible fix I haven't tried.

That's bizzare.
I've not seen this before on eBay but at times on other sites I have been in the position of needing to shrink the display really small as some clever developer has placed a confirm/continue button outside the visible page area ... not sure which browser you are using but try Control-minus / Control-plus to see if anything useful comes into view.
I expect you have tried pressing ESCape or Enter on the page.
Specualting wildly - do you have any (over) active idenitiy protection software interceeding or maybe new plugins which might interfere ... try briefly disabling/enabling and see if they are connected.
Check for clues on the browser console if it has one (Control-Shift-I if using Chrome)
Not sure what else to try.

If nothing else helps, try temporarily disabling ad blockers or popup blockers. The dimming of the page often precedes some sort of popup menu or message, which may be being blocked and thus prevented from ulitimately being dismissed or gotten past.
Alternatively, try using a different browser to see if that allows a popup to be viewed and/or permanently dismissed. That may allow you to return to the original browser and proceed from there.

Thank you for your suggestions. I don't know what effect Chrome auto updates may have had on my Pixelbook Go, but I haven't made any changes- so no hyper-vigilant ID protection, new plugins, extensions or apps.
There is no Escape; I can't Enter; Control + / - does nor reveal any hidden wonders. Whatever clues may lie in the browser console, it's all Greek to me, sadly.
But it's not all doom and gloom: though business sellers' shops are still veiled in shadow, I am now able to view other items from private sellers!

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I don't have a pop-up blocker, just the AdGuard adblocker extension, and disabling it didn't help.
I haven't tried a different browser, though I undertand it is possible to install browsers other than Chrome on a Chromebook, I find the prospect a bit daunting. Maybe after a stiff Gin or three, I'll pluck up the courage to give it a go.
