Anyone having their sales offers affected by the new accepting an offer system?
I've accepted a couple of offers recently and they seem to go into oblivion. Nobody pays up? This has never happened before the changes ebay made, apparently to "benefit sellers" which infact has affected my offers for the worse.
Firstly, the changes don't actually make the sale anymore - and any multi quantity listing stays as its original amount. This means any other potental watchers won't be notified that item maybe unavailble soon, also no boosting in the algorithm due to sales of that item.
Secondly there's now no way to contact the buyer at all, no message link to ask if they even saw the accepted offer, or with a payment reminder message option. (Which in the past I've had many apologies via this message system to say they hadn't seen the notification and then gone on to pay straight away!)
This new system is so troublesome and time consuming and you now need to go through each item to see any "pending > awaiting payement" orders and im even questioning a glitch that buyers are even receiving notifications. A buyer just last week sent me a message apologising she hadnt been notified of my offer which then expired.
Once again ebay is adding an extra step for buyers to step out - so doesnt seem to benefit sellers at all.
Chat help 🙄 ....no joys there either!

I have had the same problem. I got 5 offers. He checked first if I would combine postage before making the offers. I said I would invoice him once I accepted the offers. I accepted them all. But now its like I never received an offer. All I have to prove I even had an offer are the messages from ebay saying I have an offer. Despite having accepted the offers the items are still on for sale and they dont even acknowledge on the items that an offer ever has been received.
*bleep*!

I don't know if this helps but when I received an offer this week , as a buyer, I clicked the accept button and a message came up to say that the item would not be sold i.e. still for sale, until payment had been made.
If this is the case the five items are waiting for payment & therefore no obvious way of sending an invoice prior to buyer making a payment.

This is causing no end of confusion and there have been many threads and posts regarding this recently.
The listings remain active pending payment meaning they aren't officially classed as sold and, therefore, an invoice can't be sent to combine postage, etc. The items are moved to the buyer's basket awaiting payment but most buyers don't seem to know that they are there and if they don't pay within 24 hours then the offers automatically expire.
So far I have not seen any official announcements from eBay regarding this.

Not a glitch when offers are accepted by buyer or seller the item remain listed for sale until payment is made giving other sellers the chance to buy for longer this stops the items where buyers do not pay from having to be relisted and have the possibility of missing buyers due to it not being listed as its marked as sold but the sale is never completed. This was a method used by selling competition to clear the competition for their own items to sell. This way your item is still available for other buyers and still available at the offer price for the buyer and if they dont buy it save having to relist the item again

Hi. Did anyone find a way to sort this out or circumvent it?
Same has happened to me, I made a watcher an offer, the customer made a counter offer & I accepted it. But like the others here said that's as far as it goes. The item is still showing for sale, there is no way to contact the buyer or send an invoice (tried several times) & have no idea if the buyer has received my acceptance. What a mess, not good at all

The main issue is that the buyer does not seem to be receiving notifcation that the offer has been accepted nor am I receiving notifications that there is an offer, I have to keep checking just in case. I just had to contact a buyer who had made an offer which I'd accepted but they hadn't paid. I had to make contact through their user name as of course I didn't have any other method being as Ebay have decided in their infinite wisdom to not mark it as sold and give me the buyer details. Sure enough he had not received notification that the offer had been accepted. This needs to revert to the original method, it just does not work and can mean missed sales.

As a seller I made a counter offer two days ago that was accepted by buyer and marked 'paid'. Having wrapped decided to wait on confirmation email money is in bank before posting.
Following day eBay sent an email saying 'unfortunately your counter offer was unsuccessful we'll let you know when new offers arrive'.
Following morning email from eBay 'Congrats, your eBay balance is growing!' and the money is in the bank.
Called eBay, the rep. was as helpful as a rubber ladder about the email, but confrimed money in bank. Painful.

This unfortunately is just another part of buying /selling on ebay that didn't need changing if they were concerned about people not paying after making an offer and decided that to leave the item live until payment was made then all that had to do was make all payments on all listings to be paid immediately after the buyer has committed that is a no brainer .If you go to a coffee shop and order a coffee you dont the have a 24/48hr cooling off period to pay ebays ways of thinking through these issues seems very poorly thought out .IF YOU BUY THEN YOU PAY STRAIGHT AWAY its really not rocket science
