I have been to 7 different post offices this morning trying to send a parcel and all of them can’t process the eBay pre paid labels

Yep, others are having the same issue today, many reports of this coming through, you are not alone.

 

Seems for the time being, the answer is to either buy your own postage label through Royal Mail / Post Office,  or try again later for an SD label.

 

Then, for the unused label:

 

  • If you selected 'Buyer pays’ when you created the listing, your buyer will automatically be refunded for any Simple Delivery label that isn’t used after 30 days

 

  • If you selected ‘Seller pays’ and offered free postage on your listing, you'll need to fill out the Request a refund for Simple Delivery form for the label that wasn’t used. Make sure to send your request within 14 days of your item selling.

Hello, I have had the same issue this morning. Took TRACKED 48 Items to Post Office to obtain "Proof of Posting" as I ALWAYS DO.

Their system is saying INVALID Tracking Number, when they are scanning the QR Code? They EVEN TRIED inputting the Tracking Numbers Manually, but same result.

Yet, another GLITCH, after changes made to system ?!  

Can anyone explain HOW to CANCEL & GET REFUND for Tracked 48 Postage Label already printed through EBAY system please?  Thank you.

I wouldn't waste any more shoe leather trying anymore Post Offices for now there's a technical issue with Simple Delivery labels,  seemingly mostly affecting those starting with YA.

 

Others are having the same issue today, many reports of this coming through, you are not alone.

 

Some are reporting  this to CS,  and being told they would be sent a new label!    Hmmm!   Personally,  with the seemingly hundreds of cases which would need to be dealt with,  I wouldn't solely rely on this to happen.

As above I explained that I personally, as this is a tech issue, and no guarantee eBay will send the correct labels out to peeps,  then I would buy a new tracked label at the PO , manually enter the new tracking numbers, and the refund again as above,  will depend how the postage was originally listed,  that is,  seller pays or buyer pays,  as to who receives the refund for the unused label.

Ok, so BUYER paid for postage, as per Listing.

I printed, but due to today's problems it can't be used.

In 30 Days time the BUYER will receive a REFUND for the Postage Label not used.

 

Sorry, but I'm still not clear as to HOW / WHO pays for a New Label, as you said BUYER will receive the REFUND for unused Label?

Surely If I BUY a NEW LABEL from Post Office, I have to pay for that, not the Buyer, so WHY does the REFUND go to the BUYER?

Same here. Generated 2 Tracked 48 labels this morning. Post Office systems rejected the labels. Returned home and contacted Ebay customer Services. Took an hour for call back and rep said she would pass it on to the shipping Dept. Heard nothing since (typical) Ebay Simple Delivery is anything but, there was nothing wrong with their previous system so why fix something that was never broken. Have had several issues since the new system was introduced. Looks like I will have to claim a refund on postage and mail directly via the Post Office with ne tracking numbers. Huge inconvenience for buyer and seller in time and cost. Ebay need to pull their finger out because this Simple Delivery is frought with problems.

Very true,I just been called a scammer by one of my buyers,he thinks it’s a scam because there might be a delay in posting his parcel.ridiculous the problem it’s caused.

Hi, you could try going back to the Post Office, AFTER you have printed off Manual "Certificate of Posting for Online Postage" Receipts, and get them to STAMP them with the Post Office Official Stamp?

 

If you go to your SELLING OVERVIEW Page, on the drop down menu on the left will see POSTAGE LABELS.

 

This takes you to all the labels you have issued, click on the required item and then click on Proof Of Postage.

 

Should then see your Receipt pop up in ADOBE and can print it off?  At least you then have something?

PS. Whilst EBAY suggest and feel that problem will be resolved today? I spoke to Post Master Manager this morning, and he advised me that he has been advised it probably wont be resolved until the Middle of this week?!

The first time I encountered the issue was Saturday. I thought it's a issue at my post office. Now today just a few minutes ago I went there again with more then 15 parcels and it still says invalid item or 2D bar code not scannable. I bought labels from both eBay and from Royal Mail's website. The new label system which starts from YA is having issues and it's not a problem of any platform where you buy the labels. I will try again in the evening. Please post the latest info if someone gets their 48 Tracked accepted at any post office across the country.

Likewise, tried to send two parcels on Saturday with pre-paid labels and both rejected. Tried two different parcels today with pre-paid labels and the Post Office accepted them but they could not issue me with a receipt. Appears to be an issue with Royal Mail tracking so no visibility on the parcels progress on Ebay or Royal Mail. Have advised buyers and crossing fingers and toes. Tracking prefixes on these two labels they accepted  is YA

I just talked with the Royal Mail Customer support. They are aware of the issues. They said they have updated the software and tested internally and they will roll out the update later tonight. This issue only affected the post offices and they said from tomorrow you should be able to post normally. They also said that we don't need to cancel and buy new labels as the ones we already purchased are fine.  Meanwhile the parcel Locker services are running fine and if you only have to post a few items, you can find a locker near to you and drop it there. I will post the link for finding the locker below incase someone wants to do that. I hope they will resolve this by tomorrow.

Same issue here. Post office told me to just hand over the parcels and pray. No receipts could be given. I can't see an option on eBay to avoid 'Simple' delivery so it will always generate a label whether I want to pay for it or not, which means passing that cost on to the consumer or swallowing it myself. Thing that makes me most angry is there's plenty of chat about it here (and the post office knew about the problem) but no official comment from Ebay.

I've been having the same problem but just open the qr code on my phone. They scan it at the counter and then print the label for me. That works and I get a receipt.
