Postage labels

Two Royal Mail labels rejected at the post office. I'm still unable to cancel these labels, eBay app won't allow it. So I can't generate new postage labels 😕. Help!

Postage labels

They aren't invalid there is an issue with tracking codes beginning with YA. There are several posts already in the community if you have a quick search. Basically royal mail added new YA codes but the rubbish post office system won't accept them.  Apparently some sellers are saying their post office has been issued a work around but I will see if that's true when I try sending my parcel again tomorrow. This is not limited to eBay postage, a family member was sending birthday gifts and purchased postage online direct from royal mail which also has the YA code and they havent been able to post that yet either

So how will we be able to post parcels if the post office won't accept the
royal mail 'new' AY codes? How stupid, why keep messing the system up!

Some have been told it will be sorted tonight. My post office told me then can accept the parcel but cannot supply proof of postage which is the main issue. I will try again tomorrow and have already printed off the proof of postage letter from Ebay to get that stamped by PO if they still can't print one for me

Good luck to us all before buyers start complaining and cancelling orders. But it's not ebays fault it's the post office for not updating their computer system in time when royal mail changed the tracking code format unless royal mail never told them they were doing it 🤔

This has been Royal Mail issue over the past few days affecting many,  you are not alone.

Some were reporting  this to CS,  and being told they would be sent a new label!    Hmmm!   Personally,  with the seemingly hundreds/ thousands of cases which would need to be dealt with,  I wouldn't solely rely on this to happen.

Another member has reported CS telling them it's a Royal Mail issue, which will be solved in 24 hours!!  This too hasn't happened.

Seems for the time being, the answer is to either buy your own postage label through Royal Mail / Post Office,  and manually enter the new tracking details.  Or, try again later for an SD label.

Then, for the unused label:

  • If you selected 'Buyer pays’ when you created the listing, your buyer will automatically be refunded for any Simple Delivery label that isn’t used after 30 days

  • If you selected ‘Seller pays’ and offered free postage on your listing, you'll need to fill out the Request a refund for Simple Delivery form for the label that wasn’t used. Make sure to send your request within 14 days of your item selling.

Hiya 🤗 thankyou so much for replying. I'm going to pay for my own label at
the post office today & notify the buyers that they will be refunded for
their post label in about 30 days. What else can one do🙄. Take care eBay
community, it looks like we're on our own 💚.

Postage labels

Hi All,

The issue with the track48 YA labels has been resolved.  The Royal Mail systems are now accepting the parcels so you should be able to send them through the Post Office. If you were unable to send your parcels and new labels were purchased the original labels can be voided.

For Simple Delivery, the buyer purchased labels will automatically be refunded to the buyer within 30-40 days. For seller paid labels a refund request can be submitted through the webform within 14 days from the order date.

For non Simple Delivery eBay labels, they can be voided within 14 days by going to postage labels on your account.

There will be automated protections in place for impacted sellers for late shipment and INR service metrics.

Thank you,

Kat
