I could agree with you if it was not ebay - they care not for users, maybe if the discussions were off platform, then maybe they would notice - cant see em acting though - history is against that.

Thank you tressygirl and others who have responded since I added my tuppenceworth.
I dislike also that I cannot send feedback to Ebay without ticking at least one star. (If this were an election I could vote tactically for the "other side".) I don't know if these "votes" (i.e. comments) are ever counted but I suspect not. This sort of malarkey has happened so many times before. Remember when they took PayPal out of the payments scheme? And they made Item Specifics some kind of compulsory. (When I'm selling some old pop record, what the hell is an 'inlay'? And when I'm searching to find one to buy I don't necessarily search for the orchestra. As if anyone would know such a thing if it's not stated on the record label or otherwise well known.) Such decisions are made by the powers-that-be and no amount of shouting and complaining will make a scrap of difference. Who are we, after all. Just like ants as people are seen from the top of a tall building. I hope they lose their balance and fall to the ground. (Pride comes before a fall, does it not.) Anyone know why they can't just leave things alone? If it ain't broken, why fix it? (Or screw it up.)

My 'messages' was set up on 'Classic' view right up until lunchtime today. Then low and behold, it's now changed to this new version without me doing anything.  
Terrible, terrible and more terrible.  SHAM ON YOU EBAY.

You really need to take notice, before we all move to Vinted ... Wix ... Shopify or dare I say Facebook marketplace, or some other selling platform.

Absolutely horrendous.  This is not simpler at all.  Its all cluttered and confusing. 

Not good at all for neuro diverse people either.  My husband has a moderate brain injury.  This is causing him utter confusion and overload.  Not good a tall.  I am too finding it very difficult and understand exactly what he means.  I've rung EBay and complained to which we are told we must all complain.  No option to go back to the original view either.

I can see why there is no option to change it back, they've been allowing people to use it for months so turning it off was always going to happen sooner or later.

eBay is not social media, it doesn't need instant messaging, though it's basically just emails dressed up like instant messaging.

My inbox now has 30+ messages in it - it was empty 2 days ago, do I really need delete them again?

Always thought a main rule of web development was to try and make things take 'less clicks'   lately I feel like simple tasks on eBay have become chores and take more clicks.

I can no longer view messages index on my ipad, making it impossible to use messages!

This is ridiculous, no option to revert to the 'sane' classic version s it looks like I'll have to quit eBay for OnBuy or something similar🤬

What you have to do is reduce the size of your screen. Everything becomes visible then.
