Cannot type into chat help system

Hello

I have never encountered this problem before.

When I try to use the contact eBay system where it opens up the box to chat I cannot type anything at all.

It shows my previous message history but I cannot type anything at all to access either the bot or a eBay representative.

I have tried clearing the cookies to the browser used a different device and every time it’s the same please see the screenshot.
It’s greyed out. I can’t type anything. It’s driving me crazy. How do I resolve this? Is it a technical issue.

As advised before, if you still need to contact a customer support team, we have a social media team, which you can contact through Instagram, Facebook, or X (old Twitter), and they can also provide customer support that way.

struggling to get any help off ebay they are not good at dealing with technical issues and dont supply any reference or anyone specific that deals with these issues you generally get told by customer service they will escalate it' this generally means nothing will happen with ebay i hate amazon and refuse to use it anymore but at least they provide a reference and a case is opened so issues get resolved - i have not been able to use ebay chat or contact option since 19th September banging my head on a wall trying to get help even had 2 1 on 1 sessions and spoken to someone at ebay live and still getting no where.  Tried to attach screenshots but its saying not supported.  going crazy here - top rated seller with over 40k feedback and cannot contact ebay !!!!

marco@ebay  it’s been a significant amount of time now. Has there been any resolution on this issue. Are the technical team was still working on this. What are they doing? What is the status? I’m still unable to contact eBay via the chat system as many other people and this is really disappointing

I have not been able to talk on live chat for months on this personal account...yet it works on my business account....why?

I need help with this account. The call back link people gove does not work it takes me to help screen and then live chat where id normally choose call back which i can not as its been grey for months

Been months for me but guess what....live chat works as normal on my business account....i am thinking theres no technical issue at all and ebay have purposely closed live chat help because they can not cope with amount of people or something

Hi Ive had this issue since November 2025. Same thing cannot access chat as its greyed out

i get what they are doing...they are basically thinking..good customer service or not.... everyoen has to use ebay regardless if they want to or not for many niche marketplaces. especially hobby collectibles they domiate and its not close. why spend so much money on customer service? There is not another ebay and they realized it so *bleep* off basically.

I cant get a call-back arranged and i cant use the automated system as it says error after a few choices.. disappointing

Yes still cant connect to an agent at all on live chat or request a callback

Lines for ' live agents ' are not opened yet,  they open at 8 a.m. try then,  as there's also more chance of Dublin answering.

Lines open 8 a.m. - 10 p.m. on weekdays

9 a.m. - 6 p.m. on weekends.

Automated agents will be available on chat outside of the above hours.

It's not easy to get through to CS, you just have to have perseverance! Instead of a quick option, 'Contact Us' which put you direct to a CS agent, you have to scroll past ' How Can We Help you today, to the very bottom and click on the Contact Us below Need More Help?

That takes you to an annoying AI bot but if you persevere keep asking questions it cannot answer and Insist on an agent, they do finally put you through and say .... waiting time ** minutes!
