Hello
I have never encountered this problem before.
When I try to use the contact eBay system where it opens up the box to chat I cannot type anything at all.
It shows my previous message history but I cannot type anything at all to access either the bot or a eBay representative.
I have tried clearing the cookies to the browser used a different device and every time it’s the same please see the screenshot.
It’s greyed out. I can’t type anything. It’s driving me crazy. How do I resolve this? Is it a technical issue.

Alright, this is a joke now. It will have been 3 months soon that there has been a known issue that is preventing valuable users of your service from getting customer service. Don't you think it's time to tell the developers to pull their fingers out and fix it?

Could really use an update on what's going on Marco@ebay ?

Hi all,
I have added everyone who has replied to this thread saying that they are experiencing the same issue, thanks very much for your patience around this issue, and apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.
If you still need to contact a customer support team, please note that we have a social media team, which you can contact through Instagram, Facebook, or X (old Twitter), and they can also provide customer support that way. I know that team very well, so I know they will do their best to help you get your queries resolved.
As advised before, once this issue is resolved, I will reply here again to let you know it's been resolved, and again thanks for your patience and understanding.
Thank you,
Marco

I can't seem to get a hold of customer support via chat, it just says live support is unavailable and that's it
Why is this the case and is this permanent?

I am also having the same issue and need to speak to support about an item not delivered! Tried on multiple browsers on iphone and windows pc!

This is the easiest and quickest way to contact eBay Customer Services, for a Call Back option.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/eua?id=5275&mkevt=1&mkpid
Lines open 8 a.m. - 10 p.m. on weekdays
9 a.m. - 6 p.m. on weekends.
Automated agents will be available on chat outside of the above hours.
I do though, strongly recommend recommend contacting CS first thing in the morning, preferably 8 a.m. on weekdays, as there's more chance of Dublin answering.

Crazy that this issue has been ongoing for so long, it's been months and people (including me) are still unable to access the chat assistant to get through to someone.
I ended up going through twitter in the end, can't fault ebay for their service there honestly, they were super quick and helpful.
In fact, the process of going through twitter was quicker and simpler than the ebay help ever was (even when it was working), so it's tempting to just default to twitter or an alternative platform (other than the ebay website itself) to get support, which seems absurd but there we are.

Having same issue - all greyed out, please add me too

Same cannot contact at all and I have a frustrated buyer that I can’t answer because I need your help first.

I don't think the old chat link works any more but you can request a callback on here:

Sorry im ignorant to 'Callbacks' - why do enterprises prefer this way of contact by their users, even to the point of failing to provide help to its paying users who need to know something?
Is it not enough to only offer minimal to zero UK based CS these days by ebay?
