I have an issue and eBay support are of little help.
The issue - I have another eBay account that I use occasionally.
I recently changed my phone number, and thought I updated new number everywhere.
But completely forgot to update it on that account - now when I try to login it wants "to make sure it's really" me. And the only option there is to send SMS to my old number.
I cannot get access to that number anymore.
I have been in contact with eBay support since a week, but I have a feeling they don't even understand the issue.
Any advice please? Becoming quite desperate at this point to be honest.

I'm experiencing the same problem as it looks like somebody has changed my phone number as the last two digits shown by ebay is wrong and the customer service available is totally useful. Can't get to talk to someone. Everything is automated and nobody to help me. This is very frustrating. I just need to talk to someone who can help. My ebay seems to have been taken over by somebody else and ebay customer service cannot be reached. Help!

On the sign in page where you are prompted to enter your password, use the "Need help signing in?" link. From there, go to the password reset option, but rather than resetting your password, instead use the "Contact" link to see what options you have to contact eBay. That link is specifically for users that are unable to sign in.

Hi I have been having trouble changing my telephone number although I have changed it on my account but it still keeps coming up when I try to sell things can you tell me what I can do cheers malcolm

When you wrote "contact customer support through your verified account ", you obviously meant a separate accountfrom the one you are unable to sign into.
My account is fine, but my significant other just signed into her account for the first time in years today. Ebay sent an automatated voice message to our current landline number with a code for her to enter to verify herself, and she signed in successfully and messaged a vendor to query an advert. She attempted to sign in just now to check for a reply but was told her account has been locked and that she must reset her e-mail to verify herself. An e-mail had also been sent to her saying the same with no option to reset the password other than to click a 'contact' link that went to an automated chat that was of no use...she requested the chat put her through to a human and was given only the option for a human to call back...but eBay had automatically entered a call back number we have not had for over a decade.
I requested a call back on my account and the eBay CSR spoke with my partner, completed verification, advised that because her account was inactive for so long any activity was perceived as suspicious by your algorithm, and then said there was no other option but to create a new account...with a different e-mail address, of course.
Is there any method available whereby eBay can either send a link to her e-mail to reset the password, or update her contact number verbally over the 'phone, or simply unlock the account? If not, does she not have a right to access her data or have you remove it, and is eBay not required to make reasonable adjustments to enable her to do this?

Thank you for your post.
It may be the case there is no other option if older details are on file due to the account being inactive for a long period of time. This can only be accessed by the risk team who she already spoke with. She can try contacting customer support again to see if there is other options to do verification on her account. Due to security reasons these type of actions can only be done with customer support as we have no access to those details here on the community.
I will provide the link here with the details where she can submit a request to access her data

Hi can someone help me. I cant get into my account as im without phone right now. I have no landline either so i cannot receive a call to verify my account and i have to respond to a buyer whos just received the goods. Is there any other way i can get into my account. The only way i can is to verify through email but it doesnt give me that option

When I need to verify my account, for example accessing the Payment option, I can verify my account via email, are you not receiving this option?
If not , you'll need to contact ebay Customer Services their lines open in an hour at 8 a.m. if you contact them then, there's more chance of Dublin answering.
This is the easiest and quicket way to contact eBay Customer Services, for a Call Back option.

Lines open between 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays.
9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends.
I recommend contacting CS very first thing in the morning, when the lines first open, as there's more chance of Dublin answering.

Ive literally lost my phone and have no way of calling out or receiving calls and its not giving me the option of verifying via email. Live chat is constantly unavailable. Dont know what to do. Need to get into the account asap as ive sold something.

Are you asking from the account in question?
Then go to your eBay page Overview, and top left click on Help & Contact. Scroll down to the bottom you will see Contact Us.

My brother has been locked out of his account for a month since losing his phone.
He even took photos of driving licence and took a photo to verify and then he heard nothing.
