Can't read messages, no way to scroll

I use a laptop, not a phone. There is no way to scroll in messages, all I see is the last couple of lines so no way to know what the message is. I usually use the up/down arrows but they don't work.
Once in a while I have found a scrollbar, but then it vanishes again. As if the new messaging system isn't bad enough it is now unuseable.
I am currently trying to use it on Google Chrome.
Is there actually a scrollbar for people who don't use a phone for everything?

I agree,  it's not easy to see that scroll bar and yes, once used if you come off it difficult to find it again.

It's not obvious , not clearly shown,   and I too use a laptop , so goodness knows how easy / difficult it is to find on an app / mobile browser !

I have no scrollbar on the right panel, only one that shows up when I put the cursor on it, on the left side panel where the list of messages is. I can't open the messages to read them (on the right hand side).
