Can't add items to watchlist - stuck in endless login loop

Since yesterday I can't add items to my watchlist. I'm already logged into my account, pressing add to watchlist on an item takes me to a login page and on entering my password the item page briefly loads then the  login page re-appears. Entering my password again just endlessly repeats this cycle and the item doesn't get added to my watchlist.

Seems it might be related to the passkey login roll-out. I can see on Reddit other users have the same problem.

Windows 11, Chrome browser.

Update - no problem on Edge browser, seems to be a Chrome thing.

Ebay keeps thinking it is a new device I've half a dozen new device messages in email

to add to watch list go to Recently viewed and click on heart symbol

Probably not a Chrome thing, reptile_house - I'm using Win10/Chrome and I've had no issues adding items to my watch list.

I had an email about passkey yesterday - something about using a fingerprint to sign in - and just binned it. Apart from the fact I don't have a smartphone and my laptop doesn't have a touchscreen I'm just not interested. If ebay want to go down the route of making logging in complicated I'm quite happy to go somewhere else.

Sorry, but I don't know what to suggest other than log out of eBay completely, reboot and log back in, though you might not want to try that if you're already stuck in an infinite login loop.

After logging out, clearing cache etc, clicking add to watchlist is still broken.

I'm having the exact same problem, only just started happening, I'm using Brave browser and it updated last night, not sure if this is related (probably)

I'm using Firefox (latest version with win 11) and I  can't add anything to my watch list. My android tablet works fine. Spoke to eBay, they didn't have a clue.

Same here (Win10, Chrome).

Try using a private or incognito browser window as a temporary workaround.

At least one user indicated that allowed adding items to a Watch List when the regular browser window did not.

Have the same problem for a few weeks now, still no fix. Fine on Ipad but not on PC with Chrome.

For me this came right about a day later. You might want to clear cookies for *.ebay.*.

What browsers have you tried? Try a new browser.
