My understanding and having read EBAY policy having been a member now for over 10yrs was that if someone bids on an item they have to honour that payment , e,g, pay for it unless agreed with the Seller e,g myself to ask Ebay to retract the bid. ALL OF WHICH I HAVE NOT so why has a buyer disappeared after having made a bid ??? and then i call EBAY to be told by an EBAY REP a load of nonsense that on the advert it says it has AUTO RETRACT Which i have scan the whole of my advert again and again and seen no such selection option. I will be expecting either EBAY to chase bidder for this payment either way they should honour this as it says 100% satisfaction and money guarented once a bidder shows on my listing. SO EBAY STOP TRYING TO FOB ME OFF AND SORT THIS ASAP AND MAKE THE PAYMENT IF NO OTHER BIDS END OFF or i shall be seeking advice on this to get my payment.
adding to the advice already given -
And just think, a buyer pays by PayPal and you end up with no car and no money.
First, please understand that we are members like you, not eBay employees.
In theory you are correct, bids on eBay are binding but in practice neither you nor eBay can make a winning bidder pay for the item.
It is better to accept that the bidder will not pay than to force the issue, as if you do send the item, and the buyer claims the item is not as described, eBay will always support the buyer and you will be obliged to pay for the return of the item if you want it back, and then refund the buyer in full.
There is anecdotal evidence that eBay CS tell you anything, just to get you off the phone.
Completing an Unpaid Item case in the Resolution Centre works well for sellers if the buyer does not pay.

If you have not already done so add the buyer to your BBL, then update your account settings to stop bidders with two UPI strikes from bidding on your items and also stop blocked buyers contacting you.
Good luck with seeking legal advice.
If you do decide to go down that route, please come back when the matter has been settled and tell us how you got on.
until the listing ends bidders are allowed to retract their bids,
they are not committed to buying the item until the auction ends with them as the highest bidder
your auction is still live so the bidder was allo0wed to retract their bid,
there is plenty of time for someone else to bid on the car
"I will be expecting either EBAY to chase bidder for this payment either way they should honour this as it says 100% satisfaction and money guarented once a bidder shows on my listing."
Are you living in the real world. Ebay does not chase non payers, you open an unpaid case to give non payers an Unpaid strike and get a refund of the selling fee. You lose nothing. You add them to your Blocked Bidders List and set your buyer requirements to Block bidders with 2 or more inpaid strikes.
I have no idea where you have read the 100% satisfaction unless in the BUYER'S Money Back Guarantee, there is no guarantee that sellers will be paid. Of course you could waste money and seek legal advice, but that would still not get you paid.
Hi
Go to help and contact tab at the top of the page and search........... retracting a bid and also..........invalid bid retraction ...............and have a read.
That tells you about Ebay policy in relation to such.
So far as 100% satisfaction or your money back is concerned......Ebay mean in relation to PURCHASES and their Ebay Money Back Guarantee.
If someone has retracted a bid there is no way that you can force them to bid again....all you can possibly do is report them for an invalid bid retraction.
There is no way that Ebay will make the payment.
