I am selling an item and have received some bids.  Someone has offered a higher figure to buy it now which I am happy with.  How do i facilitate this transaction at the price offered? Thanks

No..you are obliged to let the auction run it's course

So I have no option other than to apologise and say that I can't accept the offer unless they bid in which case the item may go for less/more depending on the result of the auction? Can you cancel the auction for a fee? Thanks for your help, first time selling...

You can end the auction but ebay will charge you 10% of the highest current bid..not recommended though..

do not cancel the sale, that would give you a black mark against your account

just let the auction run, if the person making the offer really wants the item they can bid with everyone else
