Do I have to supply a user manual for an item?

Hi there, does anyone know if i have an obligations to supply a paper copy of the intruction manual for an item sold? Or it is suitable to supply a link to an electronic version if asked? If this is not supplied would ebay consider the item to be defective? Thanks for your help in advance!

If you do not have the original instruction manual to hand but it is possible to download a copy of the instruction manual then I would suggest that you print off a downloadable copy of the instruction manual and include it with the item when it sells.  That way the buyer will have a complete guide as to how to use the item, in which case it should lessen the risk of the buyer deciding to return the item to you because he/she cannot work out how to use the item and therefore concludes that the item must be faulty.
