Buyer not paid so I cancelled

Hi,

My buyer with zero feedback did not pay or reply to me. I then camclled their order abd if the likited options chose "at buyers request", I now relaise that I should have gone the "unpaid" route but now I cannot do that as there is no way to undo the cancellation.

I would like to contact ebaycuatomer services o rectify the issue. Is there anyway to contact them?

My fear is that the fraudulent buyer will claim they paid and ebay will automatically refund them under the payment guarantee and then chase me for the money.

The reasin for my suspicious is that it happened to me before many years ago when a buyer provided the wrong address to a large office block. The item was lost and even though it was signed for  on receipt and royal mail provided the signature as evidence, ebay still went ahead and refunded the buyer and chased me for the money.

Just as you have to provide evidence of delivery so a buyer has to have evidence of paying. It is not possible to just put in a claim for a refund, if not paid. When a Case is opened the payment received is Frozen, so that it is available to make a refund.  If you haven't been paid there is no money to freeze and nothing to be refunded.

You are worrying about something that cannot happen, but you should always open an unpaid case when not paid, as the big benefit apart from getting the selling fee refunded, is that NO feedback can be left or if already left can be removed. Some non payers seem to delight in leaving Negatives.

Your case with a wrong address, either you did not send to the address provided by Paypal or you did not load the tracking onto ebay. That is what tracking is for and you will win if you have loaded the tracking at the time you mark as dispatched and it shows as delivered to the address provided by paypal.

Proof of delivery to an address provided by the buyer will result in you losing and having to refund. Some buyers will do this knowing they can get a Freebie, if seller is gullible enough to ignore the system.
