How do i see a bidder's feedback profile when it is not the current winning bidder

Click on their ID as you would do for any other member!!

If the obvious worked, I wouldn't be asking the question!! - none of the bidders names in the bid history are live links, only the high bidder ID link in the listing info works.

As said, you click on the bidder's ID. You didn't mention that you'd tried that and it didn't work. No-one here has a crystal ball, so always make sure you provide full information. We pop in to help out when we get a spare moment, so would appreciate not having to waste our valuable time trying to guess why someone is asking what they're asking, and so typing replies that turn out to be useless through no fault of our own.

What browser are you using...? If IE, it's no longer compatible with Ebay or any other website. If Chrome, Chrome's latest update has created issues with Ebay and some other sites. Try Firefox or Edge.

If that isn't the issue, do the usual: Log out, clear your History etc, reboot your device, and log back in.

If still no luck and you're using the app, ditch it for desktop.

Having said all that, bear in mind that buyers can only ever have 100% positive feedback. There is no option to leave them anything else (apart from none at all).

I'm sorry for the misunderstanding, I assumed, having been using eBay for nearly 20 years now but not having sold anything for a couple of years, that something in the 'new' seller tools (that eBay mentioned as I started to make the listing) had changed subtly and that since I was having this problem using chrome, firefox and edge on 2 different computers ,that it was a common problem that many had encountered and most, except me, knew how to solve (haven't tried via the android app yet perhaps that will work). Its not specifically feedback I want to see, its nice to see bidders details so you can follow eBay's own advice on deleting bids you suspect are from fraudulent bidders for example. Anyway thanks for your help, at least yours was relevant unlike eBay whose help system just told me how to search for items based on member ID!

There is absolutely no reason whatsoever to look at a bidders feedback. 

All bidders can only be given a green star and a positive comment thanks to the one sided feedback system.

So when eBay itself suggests you might want to cancel a bid if you suspect it's from a fraudulent bidder they assume you might make this decision based on nothing but not liking the name rather than being able to see their approximate location, years of membership and feedback history/number? I've noticed many listing which stipulate 'bids will be removed from members with less than...unless contact is made first' - if you can't see the bidder's details, you can't say that.
