just recieved this from e bay
so as from the 15th you need to either have a printer i pad or smartphone to take a photo of the QR code take that to the post office to send your parcel with nevri or royal fail.
so if you sell 1 item say monday you do the above ..if you sell another item monday night/tuesday you repeat the process by marching to the post office on tuesday so on and so forth.
and if you have multiple parcels you must write the tracking number on each one as unlike evri royal mail QR codes dont have a id number on them.
oh and dont get any bright ideas about well i,ll only go every other day or once a week as it will take longer to get paid for your item...f*** me backwards now i,ve heard it all...😂😂 🤣
so to summerise boys.. and girls you spend every day packing and marching to and from the post office if you live out in the sticks and dont have a local post office ...PASS... the alternertive is to invest in a printer.
HOWEVER
if you are a B/S this doesnt apply to you just carry on as normal paying 35p a listing.
e bay is quiet now is this a ruse to finally out the private sellers or could this be a premonition of what is to come later in the year.. compulsory conversion to a business sellers account or find your e bay account restricted to a buyers only account or just closed down or the last of the remaining private sellers vanish to vinted, facebook or other selling sites or just give up ghost .

Put 'Simple Delivery' into the Help menu on ebay's front page. Scroll down. If you like SD, hit thumbs up, if you don't, hit thumbs down. Now put in a well reasoned explanation of how you feel about SD.

Let me know when your parcel goes missing 'if' you easily get a refund?
There is no way in the world Evri or Royal Mail are going to cover the insurance costs at that price level
In my recent experience RM has been a nightmare....but have you heard of HORIZON?????

Yes me too , just done it .

In the small print somewhere & I can not find it again it was something like if under 100g in weight AND £100 in cost.

£10 in cost.

After many years of selling unwanted goods l shall stop selling. I have used the Royal Mail home collection service which suits me being housebound. EBay seem determined to ruin the private sellers experience, hopefully they will loose the bulk of their private sellers,

I don't know if you de-selected Evri just out of personal choice (which would be understandable), or if you are aware that vinyl records appear on the long list of items for which you will receive no compensation if they are lost or damaged in transit, if sent by Evri.
It's down near the bottom of their list entitled "Excluded From Compensation."
So, because eBay has not given you a choice of couriers to offer, your buyers are charged more than they would be, (and certainly higher than you would choose yourself) if they could choose the useless courier as well.
I rarely sell LPs, but I would be charging my buyers less for postage AND packing. Now eBay will charge more for postage ONLY, and I need to fund the bespoke packaging from the sale of the item, so prices will need to rise. What an absolute farce!

hi,
i am curious if ebay is making allowances for the cost of packing materials in their "Simple delivery" plan?
I sell lps and use appropriate mailers and stiffeners to ensure safe delivery .
This costs money which i charge for in the postage costs,
As i use RM 48 track & sign i charge £6.95 for a standard LP .
Any thoughts anyone?
Thanks
Rich

£6.95 postage is a lot for a standard LP.
I send LPs at £3.95 RM Tracked. Signed isn't required to comply with seller protection.
I make up the cost of mailers etc in the cost of the LPs ... or at least I used to before Buyer Protection put the brakes on my sales.

As the seller doesn't receive any of the postage money the answer is no. You will need to add the cost of packing materials to the item price.

It’s a joke it is designed to slow delivery down so EBay can keep the buyers money longer earning interest on it, Millions and Millions of pounds paying eBay interest for a couple of extra days, I have questioned it with eBay and they agree Simple Delivery makes mistakes and picks the wrong size and weight but they have guaranteed by email that the Royal Mail and Evri have agreed to still post these items and then they will get reimbursed by eBay, that’s going to be fun at the post office trying to explain that one, EBAY DO NOT LISTEN, EBSY DO NOT CARE , EBAY IS A DICTATORSHIP . THE COMMUNITY HAS TO LIKE IT OR LUMP IT

Well said. Exactly my feelings too!

Correct myself under £10 cost.

My EXISTING LISTING has already been converted to "Simple Delivery" by ebay AND I never received any notification (as above) about any changes. The first I knew is that the email I received for an item that I sold on 2nd April 2025 no longer contained the buyers address. Logging on to ebay I could NO LONGER see the buyers address without printing a label/QR code AND £2.70 had been deducted from my sellers balance.
The item I sold was £4.95 with free postage. Obviously £2.70 postage (rather than a 2nd class stamp), plus the cost of driving to a post office makes it pretty impractical to sell low value items on ebay.
Ebay recently added buyers protection at 75p + percentage to replace the old sellers fee of 30p + plus percentage. Buyers Protection adds 91p to a £4.95 item. I am not sure what additional value ebay add apart from NOT paying the buyer for 2 weeks after the item has been posted when using untracked Royal Mail. Under the old system they used to just reclaim any money paid for non-received items!
Both of these changes seem to be designed to drive "low cost" private sellers off of ebay OR am I missing something?

CORRECTION TO MY PREVIOUS REPLY:
I did receive the ebay message on 31st March regarding shipping.... but did not read it fully.
It does say "Simple Delivery will apply to new eligible listings by private sellers in the UK, and from 7 April to any existing listings that are eligible." My EXISTING LISTING was changed ON or BEFORE 2nd April. It was for an item costing £4.95 and weighing less than 100g. It look like ALL private sellers need to check whether ebay have already updated their existing listings to use "Simple Delivery" and maybe check again on 7th April. If you want to use Royal Mail you will need to revise your listings back to Royal Mail (or whatever) using ADVANCED OPTIONS. As a safety issue I also changed mine from free delivery to buyer pays.
