Did I miss the announcement of the end of 'simple delivery'?
also I can't find the announcement of the ending of sale/no sale email notifications

What makes you think they are ending Simple Delivery?
I'm still getting emails letting me know my item sold so I also don't know why you think they are ending either.

Many are not seeing Simple Delivery this morning, only Custom Postage, but Friday is eBay's maintenance day, when those up in eBay Towers HQ in CaliforNIA are tweaking and installing new systems. It's still very early hours of the morning there, so less disruption for the American members, but sending things askew and awry here in the mornings in the UK.

You may have missed the change a few days ago that now items under £20 are eligible for Custom Postage.

SD is a waste of time. I bought an item on Tuesday 09 September. Seller used SD RM Tracked 48.
According to tracking it is still at a RM Mail Centre some 250 miles away. eBay tracking merely says "Item Delayed" but no reason given. With a bit of luck and a fair wind it might turn up some time next week if at all.

I found SD quite easy, is there any way to opt into SD when your items are priced under £20?

This was the message eBay sent recently re opting out of items priced under £20.
We’ve listened to your feedback and made Simple Delivery optional for more items priced £20 or less. This includes items in categories like Trading cards, Coins and Stamps, which are typically letter or large letter-sized and 100g or under.
It’s an update that gives you more choice. You can choose a low-cost, untracked delivery option when protections aren’t essential, or stick with Simple Delivery to benefit from prepaid labels and automatic tracking, all at competitive prices. Learn more about this update.

Simple Delivery will be optional for items that are £20 or under, and in certain sub-categories like Trading Cards, Coins, and Stamps, which are typically letter or large letter-sized and 100g or under.
when I go to relist a previously unsold item

What's the issue? It's at most a day late. Seller also doesn't choose the postal service. They just print the label for whoever ebay decide, provided you've enabled both Evri and RM.

I'm guessing there is a bug in the system. All my current listings are simple delivery yet when I go to revise them they want me to change the postage service. I also can't list items using simple delivery. Hope it gets sorted soon.

the issue is that it was to be 'optional' and it isn't.. been far too many significant changes to how we sell this year..

Have you checked the RM website? I had one that was delayed and it turned out it went to a RM super hub, was mis-sorted, then went on its way elsewhere before being caught at another mail centre then redirected back to me. It had a nice journey around the country 🙄

Still the same situation Saturday afternoon i.e. no SD. Intriguing!
