"Mark as dispatched" - gone

As a private seller paying postage costs on all my listings I sometimes have two separate orders from the same buyer.  Previously I would pay for and print a label for one, but include both in the parcel and mark the other as "dispatched".  But now with Simple Delivery there is no option to mark the second item as dispatched.  Is there a way around this so that Ebay does not think I have failed to send the second one?

Currently eBay are saying this is a technical issue that you cannot combine postage under Simple delivery.

If a buyer buys 2 separate items they should be posted separately so there are two tracking numbers.  Or, to delist the items  refund, and relist together as one, for the buyer to buy again, so one tracking number is available for the two items packed together.

If 2 were purchased under SD you will not be able to mark the second item as dispatched  and may have to wait 14 days for that payout to be released.  The unused, paid for label will be refunded to the buyer.

It's not ideal , and a big issue and annoyance for all sellers, but no fix date as yet,  to be anounced for a resolution.

No doubt many sellers will be struggling with this issue. eBay must have been aware that not being able to offer combined shipping with Simple Delivery would cause problems.

Or did they really think buyers would not mind paying postage for each parcel to be sent separately, or wait for unused postage labels to be refunded? Or that sellers would want the hassle of refunding & relisting items as bundles?!

It is a very unsatisfactory state of affairs.

I've just had a similar problem, where I wanted to post my sold item using my own label & postage instead of the pre-paid one.  If you go to the 'Selling Overview' section (not the 'Orders' section), you should see the option to manually mark your item as dispatched, or shipped, under the drop-down menu. 

Could you please let me know if this works, as I accessed this from a link to ebay.com- so I'm not sure if it works in ebay.co.uk.  Many thanks!

It's not working for me. Even though i shipped my items. Now I'm getting the over due dispatch date coming up. Why is eBay so greedy and broken. They take so much money from sellers and yet can't keep things simple. If you try to contact a human. Not possible any more either.

Hi createjoystore, if you go to Selling Overview, you should see the option to mark your items as dispatched manually.  I did this only a couple of weeks ago with an item I sold, and I havn't had any problems.

So, that's under the left-hand Selling menu, select Overview sub-menu, NOT Sold or Orders!  You will find the option to Mark As Dispatched in the right-hand drop-down menu.

@jimbob036 this doesn't work unfortunately-- I'm in the UK as well, and I've tried using both the .co.uk and .com URLs and even though I'd input 'free shipping' for the order, I still can't mark the order as dispatched even though I've bought my own label. I've updated the buyer via message that their order is on the way and provided tracking there... So frustrating that there's no way to get around this at all if wanting to mark 'dispatched' other than to pay for a label you won't use and then request a refund. 😞

There is no mark as dispatched anymore as eBay have made it mandatory for Private sellers to use Simple Delivery,  and when those labels are purchased,  it immediately marks the item as dispatched and adds tracking,  eBay expect items to be posted promptly ! 🤔

If you have purchased your own labels,  you need to manually add your tracking and this then shows an item to be dispatched.

Use a laptop / PC and Chrome seems to work well then:

• Go to "Orders Paid & Dispatched"
• Click on "View order details"
• Within the "Postage" section there's a small dropdown arrow next to "Track Package" - click on that.
• Click on the "Add tracking" option
• A box will come up with the current tracking number . Delete that and replace it with your tracking.

Been trying this, too! Ebay is loading up an error page when I try that, but will try again later today and hope it's just a temporary error (though I have little hope at this point, haha.) 🫠

Which device or browser are you using?

If the app or mobile browser you need to switch to a laptop / PC and use Chrome that seems to favour eBay best.  Try from there.

It worked for my last two sales!  I sold a kitchenware item on the 15th of August, and although I had to struggle a bit to find the buyer's address (they don't make it easy!), I eventually found it & the 'mark as dispatched' option was right there under the 'overview' menu.  I then sold a coin on the 31st and the 'mark as dispatched' option was available in the 'orders' area!  It's still there & I could 'mark as not dispatched' if I wanted to!  I can only assume that different people are being exposed to different versions of the software?

Im sorry ,please remind me when they first said this was an ebay fault and what progress is being made by their team to solve it.

That's good to hear hopefully that is something newly introduced,  but a little concerning when others here cannot find it, and it's not an option I can find either.
