My sales have completely died. I have very few watchers on my items now.
The "simple delivery" announcement made me panic because my partner usually takes my items to the post office for me.
We are not "mobile" people and are quite traditional. So I panicked and bought a label printer second hand. In the meantime took all my listings down until the printer arrived.
I relisted my items, but after two weeks I have only sold two items. The " advanced option' for postage is still there. Yet I felt pushed into selecting simple delivery, unsure if the option I chose: weight, size is correct for all my items. Any postage cost mistake I did in the past I would just pay the extra postage myself. Now what happens if the parcel is over the weight or size selected?
When I search for my items they seem overpriced because of the buyer protection added. Yet when I relisted them I cut the cost.
My watchers and viewers have gone down drastically.

This is what happens when big companies like ebay have 'improvement' teams. These teams have to justify their existance by constantly coming up with new 'improvements' all the time.
Except they just end up breaking things or making things worse as the thing wasn't broke or bad in the first place. That old saying again 'if it ain't broke don't fix it' rings very true.

Ebay has commited an act of self harm with Simple Delivery. Problem is they are too arrogant to admit it.

I wonder how,in of their revenue comes from private sellers versus business sellers
I take it business sellers don’t have bpf,or simple delivery
how much would it dent their business if private sellers disappeared
im ok with arrogance
im not ok with incompetence or negligence not to mention non transparency and double speak
people value honesty integrity and other related things as well
it’s not all about the bottom line in ££££ or %$$$$$$
sometimes the bottom line red line is different
maybe that’s why vinted were so successful
they were clear about how they operate
you either decided yes or no
thats fine with me or it isn’t
I do promote them here time to time
why wouldn’t i
i sell more on there than here and I have the same items
priced the same sometimes priced less other times depending
here I’m lucky to get a couple views

I imagine they did some stat's and decided how many of us were expendable and wouldn't affect their turnover.
All their recent changes have negatively impacted private sellers, so guess they don't need us that much.
Only other thing I can think of is - they are desperate to make some money due to the 3 new income streams because they are in a financial bind of some sort.
If the new changes do go south ebay are going to have to really stuff up the shareholders with some quality guff to prevent a sell off.

Most of this is above my head but eBay have shares in the company that took over Hermes and made it evri… what does evri even mean,,,,I understood Hermes as the quick silver footed fast messenger
..another flippin private equity company…they don’t give a rats *bleep* about anything except profit
horrible business really
hermes wasn’t that bad until it became evri
if this isn’t true ie eBay getting into bed with them then why disable all carriers for SD except them and Royal Mail
maybe it’s my bedtime though

Over my head too but that's interesting about ebay having shares in evri, vested interest there I guess.
Read about the evri name - supposed to refer to them delivering everywhere.
Was my bedtime too but found all my drafts to delete in my profile on here, going back to 2021! Only using the 'cancel' button from now on. Thanks for the tip.

The reason for the change of name from Hermes to Evri was, as far as I'm aware, just a desperate attempt to shake off the very poor reputation Hermes had earned for itself...
'In March 2022, the courier Hermes announced that it was rebranding and is now known as Evri, delivering a fresh new look but with the same great parcel delivery service. While Hermes has changed its name to Evri, it is still owned and operated by the same company.'
If Evri offer 'the same great parcel delivery service' as Hermes, that's not saying much, is it...?! 😄

A well known marketing wheeze... started, I think, after Windscale Nuclear power station had a nasty accident.
Sometime after that they had a 're-branding' and decided to call themeselves 'Sellafield'....... and hope nobody would know they were the same station in the same place 😏

There was one person that didn't know that they were the same station in the same place - me.
For years, I thought we were threatened by two nuclear power stations - Windscale and Sellafield.
In my case, a marketing wheeze gone wrong. I thought we'd doubled the chances of another nasty accident.
