We know it happens. You are selling an item and get pushed down in search by a listing of the same item but it appears cheaper as the listing includes a fabric or other sample for pennies. Another step however is including a 'variation' that is a totally unconnected item costing hardly anything. This is of course manipulating the selling search and wasting buyers time. With my buyers hat on I eventually purchased from someone that did not do this. I did however report the offending seller as unfair to the honest ones. Yes you guessed it I got a 'nothing to see here' response. Why even include a 'listing manipulation' if it doesnt matter. HOWEVER the most incredulous part of the report was that the decision had been made by ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE. I kid you not. So ebay are handing their decreasing reputation as a trusted platform to a computer system with no intelligence at all! Welcome to the brave new world. Gloves are off as 'computer say no (problem)'

I have just had the same response - AI says it's Ok to list a picture saying 'out of stock' for 99p, I even put one in my shopping cart and I was allowed to buy a picture saying "out off stock" (typo is theirs not mine), must admit though - there was no postage fee. item 256380085803

I have to say I love the colourful AI description of some items (not)

Just been on the phone with the eBay customer service, as always nothing was done. Reported the seller that have all of his listing start from 99p variation for product called CHOOSE YOU SIZE picture !!! ebay said there is nothing wrong, when I asked what I am buying for 99 pence eBay staff just avoided to answer as they couldn't tell me, they just keep saying contact the seller. This is the reason why we only have few sales a day with thousands of active listings as the buyers cant get through all this mess to find the best price. I cant see any hope for eBay anymore.
