Your account is not currently on holiday, so can you pack and post ASAP? If not, you will have to cancel the sale. If it were me, I would write to the Buyer and apologise and give a brief explanation.

In case it helps you or other Sellers, there are two ways to Schedule Time Away:

Allow sales for up to 15-days.

Pause sales for up to 30-days.

Even if you choose the latter, to stop sales, you will have to pack and post any auctions that end in this period. Also Time Away doesn't start instantly, so you may have sales before it takes effect.

Message the buyer and explain and ask if they would like to cancel (make sure you are apologetic in your explanation). Even if you hid your items, sales can still occur if someone is watching the item or won an auction and not paid straight away.

Didn't know that! How silly.

My practice is to use the "allow sales" setting, but even when away sunning myself I do a daily check for sales and I message any buyers on the lines of, "Did you pick up that I am away and won't be able to ship until xxx, if this is a problem please get back to me." Sort of inviting them to cancel if need be. I do sometimes receive a reply on the lines of, "Didn't notice but it's OK."
