Hi I've just received this message contacted ebay and is being sent to everyone
That's me I'm done no more ebay for me bye bye
We are making changes to the way we process payments on eBay. Going forward, we’ll make your funds available for payout within 48 hours after we’ve confirmed delivery of the item. Until then, you’ll see a “hold” on your funds. This process helps keep our marketplace safe.

thats just clothes
what about all the other catogories
14-02-2025 12:34 AM
ive had to wait up to 6 months before i got any feedback before
14-02-2025 12:38 AM
im just in the middle of that now
just decluttering over 20 years in this house
downsizing to a bungalow now
14-02-2025 12:42 AM
i am a business seller
most of the items i sell are under £10 with free postage
carb kits and primer bulbs to repair petrol garden tools
one time it used to be quite profitable
but greedy royal mail postage prices
and greedy ebay fees
slowly driving me out of business
and just not worth doing it anymore

It's strange that eBay advises you not to request feedback from buyers - I think it's because they do it for you!

But buyers only have 60 days to leave feedback.

They do send out reminders about feedback, but few usually do it, I've sold over 15k items, and you can see what my feedback score is in relation to that...

I think they meant that they went six months without getting any feedback at all.

Yes, my feedback score is less around half my sales and includes automatic feedback from purchases. Everyone knows that pestering for feedback is asking for trouble, though, and eBay shouldn't be doing it without the seller's consent.

So how do they propose you have the funds to send it
Not only do you not have the item, because you’ve sent it, and don’t have the money either

You can pay for it from your pending funds and when simple shipping becomes compulsory the buyer pays it for you - simple really !
16-02-2025 3:07 PM
yes but it pushes the prices up
and when you sell stuff for less than £10 with free postage
can be slightly difficult
in fact im thinkking of shutting down my shop
16-02-2025 3:12 PM
This won't effect you as you have a business account.
16-02-2025 3:38 PM
i have two accounts one business one private
i sell these also from my private account
this will effect the price big time

Apologies if this has already been mentioned but there’s an awful lot of messages here!
I can see that with most of my sold items, it says, ‘pending - in ebay balance on (whichever date)’ and I can wait a little while so that doesn’t hurt me, but on a few of them, it says ‘pending - awaiting delievery’ with no date mentioned. I’ve marked them all as sent, and weirdly, one of them was sent in the same package with an item that does has the date attached to it, so its really odd. Will I still get paid eventually for these items? Cheers

Is it possible you've sent some items without tracking? If that's the case, you'll get paid 14 days after purchase unless the buyer puts in a claim. I'm not sure, but for low price items feedback might trigger payment (too tired to check)

I listed a few items recently after a bit of an exodus from eBay and I’m taken back by the changes and amendments made towards private sellers.
I feel like I’ve just registered on eBay again! Looking at the slump and lack of views and engagement then reading the forums here it all makes sense.
I won’t expect my items to sell any time soon, I also won’t expect myself to buy anything on eBay anytime soon!

Personally I think it’s awful. I’m sure it wasn’t just me relying on using part of the funds from the sales to pay for the postage of the next items? Which was very convenient when you could access your funds the next day..
I also wonder if eBay make a small amount of interest at all off the withheld funds while it’s in “limbo”? If they do they most certainly wouldn’t be the first to do that. It seems once again the emphasis is on the buyer rather than the seller, and if it’s supposedly to protect the former from unscrupulous sellers, then isn’t that sort of tarring all sellers with the same brush? I’ve often wondered if there was a way to have verified sellers whereby like before the funds would be available next day , though I’m not sure how that could be undertaken.. consistency of feedback and sales maybe ? I don’t know. But if it’s aimed at speeding up the posting of goods well that’s all well and good but I for one can only post on Wednesdays and Saturdays due to work, so if anyone buys anything say on a Sunday, the earliest I can post is a Wednesday, meaning I get the funds the following Sunday.. not ideal . Anyway, as can be seen from the sheer number of comments and opinions, this isn’t popular move at all, and I suspect the eBay higher ups really don’t care at all, though it would be nice to hear from them to justify their actions

My thoughts exactly. It worked well before, funds available next day and thus you could use some of that to pay for the postage of items more or less straight away (speaking g as someone who has been posting multiple tracked items often up over £50 in postage, not like a fiver here or there ).. and now it’s like you have to go pull some notes off the magical money tree.. easy when you have lots to spare but not when you’re pretty much watching every penny to live
