Hi I've just received this message contacted ebay and is being sent to everyone
That's me I'm done no more ebay for me bye bye
We are making changes to the way we process payments on eBay. Going forward, we’ll make your funds available for payout within 48 hours after we’ve confirmed delivery of the item. Until then, you’ll see a “hold” on your funds. This process helps keep our marketplace safe.

I'm not sure what people think they will achieve by ending their listings, it seems like cutting your nose off to spite your face
Ebay sucks right now but it's probably still the better marketplace for most people.
Where else would you sell?
Vinted? They do everything people are complaining about eBay right now.
Bootfairs? Good luck getting a decent price from ebay/youtube resellers wanting to buy cheap to sell on here
FB Marketplace? Do people every respond after you reply yes to "Is this still available"?
And honestly, if you're a private seller that sells the odd one or 2 things, I very much doubt eBay will even notice you've stopped selling. Maaaaybe if enough people deleted their account they might, but then you'd have to start afresh with feedback.
I see a lot of sellers here who clearly pride themselves on what they do and keep good feedback scores, why would you write that off without even seeing if the new systems are better?

Why indeed?
Because many of us see the greater picture and will not be dictated to... plus as in my case SD will be an absolute no go for me for personal reasons...unless something changes drastically... so it is eBay who have actually prevented me from continuing to use the site...they have moved the goal posts without any thought to us "oldies" and "regulars" who buy more than they sell... as long as their stakeholders are okay and they can buy up another " business" to saturate the market why would they care about the " little people" who helped to build the platform and if that is the case, then why would I care to line their "pockets" full of interest from " funds held?"....

I ended all my items last night in protest of the changes Ebay are making.
It may do no good but at least I've done what I feel is right.

I am still in the wait and see camp. Yes i can wait for my funds...yes i can just about deal with a buyers premium. I will never be dictated to as to who i use to post and when i post. That will never work for us. I will probably just wait and see how compulsory simple delivery works out. Saying that i do not think even Ebay truly knows how that will work.

May I ask how you do " time away" as I have not done that before and unsure how to go about it... and it is a great idea.

continuing to sell but buyers won’t receive ur item until the end of your
time away period or hold ur sales with no purchases during your time away
period. It’s good if u are going away on holiday and cannot post during
that time. I’ve put mine on a two week hold with no sales until I can
figure out whether EBay’s new policy is right for me.
The time away feature is here—->

There should be a link in your overview page, depending on how you set that up depends on where it shows though.
It's under Selling Tools

'As on my personal ebay few of my items still look the same.'
Are any of your personal sale items in the electronics category? If they are there *should* be the BPF attached to them.
Anything else will still be 'normal'. Apparently the changes are being 'rolled out gradually' now!
( I think the tech team have realised it's not quite so easy as they first thought, and it has also apparently made a mess of 'the App' on certain older models of 'phone. perhaps they're trying for more sales in the phone category😂)

I think it is now coming in slowly, starting with electronics.

Agreed. And that is why the "wait and see" camp is the only logical way to go. Some sellers are throwing their teddies out of the cot over changes that we don't know what they will look like until we actually see and experience them.
Buyers' premium has already changed, before it was introduced, from "all at once" to a gradual introduction by categories.
Delayed payments has already been modified, before it is introduced, to deal with untracked letter post.

I was in the "wait and see" camp and I agree that that is the best option for most private sellers - in the main, I think that is what the vast majority will do in any event as the reality is that eBay will do what eBay will do. That said, it's not life or death for me to sell on eBay and as things have gradually become skewed toward business sellers (or, as some have said, business sellers masquerading as private sellers) I think I am getting to the point where it is no longer worthwhile selling on eBay or anywhere else for that matter. Adding up the ways in which eBay favours buyers over sellers - such as the way it allows buyers to leave unreasonable and irrational negative feedback, the way in which enables fraudulent buyers to get away with ludicrous claims - to give just a couple of examples. And now they tell me that after 20 years on eBay and 4 years as a seller with perfect feedback they do not trust me - well, it's just not worth it for me. It is going to be tough leaving eBay behind as a seller as I have had some great sales I have had many friendly interactions with the vast majority of honest buyers, but enough is enough and I while I will wait around for a little while it is most likely that I will stop selling in the next few weeks. Good luck to you all whatever you decide to do, and don't pay any mind to the "cutting off your nose to spite your face" argument, just do what is right for you.

Beautifully said; I feel exactly the same. I have 2 ebay accounts (one I have had for 20 years and took over from my husband who long ago felt it wasn't worth the time and effort). I too have had frustrating issues with fraudulent buyers (including a credit card chargeback which cost me £16 for a 99p earrings I sold for which the buyer left me positive feedback but claimed "ebay used the wrong credit card"
I shall relist items but doubt I'll make many new listings; ebays mistrust of its sellers has just gone a step too far for me. I wish you luck whatever your decision.

Well said, ive took all auction style listings off and changed them to buy it now with the 28 days listing which will give me time to get some money in the bank to pay for postage if I do get any sales.

You mean you're intending to wait for 14 days in order to get the money in *before* you post?
Oooh dear, you may get hit with 'item did not arrive' before you've posted anything.
Enough of those 'did-not-arrive' cases and your account will be restricted ☹️
(I hope I've misunderstood your intentions here!)

'I think they ment get money from somewhere in general.'
I hope I got it wrong.
Even so, waiting for some money to arrive in your bank so you can post an item you have just sold, is a risky strategy. An even mildly impatient buyer could harm your account... and more than a couple of those could restrict you.
What I mean is : if you could get money into your (otherwise empty) bank account within a couple of days, why wouldn't you have the money there already? As buyers will not be happy to wait much more than that for postage.
