Listing of 7 days are supposed to relist 8 TIMES this is not happening. The items I listed last week have not automatically relisted. This is continually happening and is so frustrating and time consuming. I did phone up and query this but it is still happening. Can someone explain why? I feel like giving up on eBay after 15 years the system is a mess.

Have you checked a listing to see if the toggle switch for auto relisting is switched on?

It may have something to do with the following clause for auction-style listings:
'Keep in mind that the automatic relist option is only available on listings created by new and occasional sellers. The option will not show for other sellers.'

Automatic relisting/good-'til-cancelled is only universal for everybody on Buy-It-Now type listings.
I think your issue is because of the reason sml192 has posted - for auction style listings the auto-relist option is only available to new sellers or sellers who only sell occasionally. I would think your recent listing/selling history has taken your account profile beyond the criteria that qualifies as an occasional seller, and therefore your listings have reverted to having to be manually relisted.
With regard to the P+P, if you had listed the items without using ebays 'Simple Delivery', it may be that your account has now been brought into the fold of Simple Delivery being mandatory, so your previous P+P arrangements will have been removed.

hi all, I have not changed any of my seller setting and I am now experiencing the same issue with listing an item on auction then after 7 days I am having to relust the item but because this is happening I have used my 300 free listing's within a few days and now to relist it's costing me money. It seems like Ebay have changed the 8 times relisting without notification. I have been a regular seller on Ebay and I'm now loosing patience with Ebay and seriously considering shutting Ebay down. If anyone can help then please advise me. Kind regards Steve

You got an answer to this when you posted your question as a new post.
Have a look at the link and the details that were provided there.
Private sellers get 300 free listings a month.
Manual relists do count towards this total.
You can no longer set up auction style listings to automatically relist with no fee. This has been the case for many months - possibly since listings were reduced from 1000 a month to 300 a month, I am not certain.
Once you have used your 300 free listigs, you pay a fee for every additional listing.
The only listings that you can set up to automatically relist are buy it now listings. Once they are listed (new listings come out of your 300 a month total) they relist. without a fee, on a monthly basis.

Hi
It looks like the Auto-relist button for Private Sellers with Auction style listings is still there.
I'm not sure if this is on a seller-by-seller basis, or category-by-category basis but just make sure that the option is turned on as per the first reply on this post.

It has been superseded by this - read the last two sentences:
If you select the auto-relist option (if available) when you create your listing:
Automatic relisting is available for most categories, but there are some exclusions (see below). If your item doesn't sell after 8 relists, it will appear in your unsold items - opens in new window or tab.
Keep in mind that the automatic relist option is only available on listings created by new and occasional sellers. The option will not show for other sellers.

Whats the definition of 'Occasional' please.
I cant see it happening , but having relisted items separate to 'New' wound be wonderful for browsing.

Hi, I've been experiencing the same thing, every time I contact Ebay they say that it's me not them. This has cost me upto £100 now so i feel the same way as you. I have now got it when I want to revise a listing from auction to buy it now I can't as the tab is unavailable. I'm now told that it is because I've listed an item as auction and until the item has reached 8 cycles then I can't change it, Ebay have told me to delete the item then resist it, the next thing will be they freeze my account due to too many selling violations. Ebay are a struggle at the moment.

Deleting an item and relisting it or using the "sell similar" option is not a selling violation, as far as I'm aware. There are folks who routinely delist and relist their entire store every month.

It's certainly not any selling violation and would not lead to any selling account restrictions if you delist and relist.
When I was selling I would do this frequently to ' stale' listings, delist and list as Sell Similar so it becomes a 'new listing ' ( relisting the old, does not do this), as the items would then show as newly listed to those searching with that option.
