Went to list something just now and the post service options have completely changed since yesterday. I usually list with free post (I then select yodel as that's my nearest/best priced drop off centre), but there's no option to offer free post. I'm forced to list with *whatever* ebay has chosen, which might be a service miles away from me making post a nightmare. Why why why mess about with this when it was working fine.... (I have my own ideas of why it was changed, you can guess my thoughts...)

I had to skip payment because the item is bigger than the maximum option, and listed it as Collection then put the Parcelforce cost in the description. Far from satisfactory because prospective buyers might avoid Collection due to distance and then never see the description

How did you achieve it? I had to skip payment because the item is bigger than the maximum option, and listed it as Collection then put the Parcelforce cost in the description. Far from satisfactory because prospective buyers might avoid Collection due to distance and then never see the description

This has caused me a massive amount of hassle and if it remains like this I will go elsewhere. Items larger than 60cm I am having to list as Collection and then state a Parcelforce cost under the description. Far from perfect because distant buyers will pass by and won't see it. Ebay was excellent for me until they started making all these changes and now it is dysfunctional. I have been with them for 21 years and have a 100% rating, now I'll have to start over again with whoever picks up the business they lose

It now says, " buyer pays" or "seller pays" ( thats the free post, i.e you pay ebay). If you scroll down the weights section, your postal choices are there, RM or evri only. Almost all of us dislike it and are stopping selling, perhaps till eBay see sense, which isn't likely.

Losing Custom Postage option, what a ridiculous idea.
I should be able to choose who I send with and by which service.
The buyer will normally pick the cheapest service which may not be the best.
Why can E-Bay not do something right.
All their recent changes incl buyer/seller fees are an absolute joke.
Why can't the see this before proceeding.
Quite obvious, there lining their pockets at the expense of us.

I've lost the ability to change, no custom option available.
They changed one of my scheduled listings from custom to simple.
Tried to list an item tonight and no custom option !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It would appear that Ebay and everyone linked to it are ignoring what we are all saying, i'd LOVE to know how many accounts closed or people started migrating due to this....someone there best get it sorted and make a public announcement cause they are haemorrhaging people like its going out of fashion. BTW turn OFF the algo's ebay! my last comment was banned cause I said a simple truth....

You list an item which on the face of it looks good, then they add the buyer fees on top and your starting price
looks an odd and in some cases not an attractive price.

I listed a mountain bike frame the other day, the postage here in England (UK) to post it within the country is £12 via Parcelforce, There is NO WAY I can change the forced postage cost from £5 which ebay think is acceptable to £12, granted no one is losing sleep over a £7 difference BUT on all my adverts, yea thats a problem!!

With Custom postage I always made sure my postage method would always have the appropriate insurance cover.
In the event the item sold for more than the insurance cover I would 'Up' the level and take the hit.
With Simple posting how does that work ????
Can a buyer choose a postage method/level that does not cover the cost of the item ?
If so and the item gets lost or damaged does that mean the seller loses out due to wrong insurance level ?
With Custom postage the seller who picked their method and insurance was responsible for claiming for any loss or damage since it was them who had the 'contract' with the Courier firm.
With Simple posting who makes the claim for loss or damage ?
Should be said I only use Royal Mail since I've had very minimal loss or damage claims and if so they were very easy to deal with, other Couriers I've heard can be a nightmare.
.
As a buyer I've just bought an item which showed Simple posting, I didn't get an option to choose Courier/Postage method and unless the seller is taking a hit I can tell from the postage cost it won't cover the cost of the item if it gets lost or damaged.

Yes I've now started to look at other ways to move items since this has now got ridiculous.

'With Simple posting who makes the claim for loss or damage ?'

Within the Simple Delivery system, Ebay state that they are responsible for loss or damage to the item in the post.
I.e. if the item gets nicked or smashed by evri (not unheard of.....!) or R.M. , ebay will pick up the bill themselves.
But it looks like there are going to be some problems ahead when it comes to the 'excluded from compensation list' conundrum.
( please read any thread where somebody- usually me 😆- goes nagging on about 'the exclusion list'!)

I simply cannot believe that ebay isn't going to welch on that promise. Ebay is touting SD as another revenue stream to its shareholders who must be a gullible bunch if they believe that and know that evri is involved.
My last item for sale was a £749 glass table lamp (bumped up to £752 with BPF). It was changed to SD with an RM postage cost of £7 (ish). 😮
BTW. I've forgotten which thread it was where some poor seller had his £500 Gold Coin go missing and was waiting for ebay to make up its mind about whether to compensate him. Can you jog my memory please, I'd like to know how that story ends?

'Simple delivery' failed, now a test case.
