With Buyer Protection, you'll benefit from:

As a private seller I often find items are only shown as dispatched not delivered so does this now mean I am going to have to chase eBay for payment when I know from feedback or tracking a customer has received an item.

If the item is under £10. and untracked, ebay will accept buyer pos. feedback as proof of delivery and release the payment after 2 days.
No feedback = wait 14 days.
If the item is over £10 and there's no tracking/delivery notification, you have to wait 14 days for payment regardless of feedback left or otherwise...
(and if the buyer raises an INR or SNAD within that 14 days you'll have to wait until it's sorted out.)
Chasing ebay CS won't make any difference.
Thems the new rules ☹️

The cynic in me wonders if 2 corporate entities such as eBay and Royal Mail would actually come to a fiscal agreement in their benefit.
Royal Mail already had the umbrella programme for all their normal services, allowing 10 working days after something enters their network for delivery. Something like that might almost be beneficial for eBay as they obviously want to hold our money for us.

Don't knock it. Once all the other high street banks have boarded up and left town it's entirely possible there will be new branches of EBAY BANK moving in. Look out for the corporate colours. 😁

The gaslighting about sellers being paid after delivery is really quite incredulous. As if eBay haven't historicly taken funds from your linked payment source when things go awry anyway and heavily side with buyers in the process. Am I really supposed to believe there's that much fraud on eBay that these sort of draconion measures need to be enacted?

Hi, I’m buying a second hand bike that must be collected in person and I will pay cash for the item when I go and collect it, if it does not exist, is not as described or a fake then I won’t buy it so what do I have to pay for this “protection” that will be worthless to me, money for nothing I think!

Cash on Collection is no longer allowed on ebay.
In order to get an address from the seller - you have to pay via ebay checkout.

I think people need to wake up.
Big Corps have lobbied (A group of persons engaged in trying to influence legislators or other public officials in favor of a specific cause) IE "We do not want second hand sales to be allowed anymore. It stops people buying our over priced goods. We are greedy and we want more money so we want you to make it difficult for buyers to buy second hand."
.GOV
"We can not have people selling second hand goods because it is at the moment too easy for those selling to make a few £s without paying tax. We want more money, We need to tax everyone for everything. Every penny will be accounted for, All tax must be paid...And then we can give ourselves another pay increase, and do less work, and recieve gifts from lobbyers in the meantime."
All of them (Corperations/,GOV) are working together to make things harder for the little people and easier for those at the top to make money.
It keeps us in our place as Surfs.

How's that, exactly? Sellers don't pay fees anymore. They've just moved the fee from the seller to the buyer.
