I list using the app.
Out of the blue I see this message
Complete your listing on a Web browser to apply your business preferences
What does it mean. I only want to use the app for listing.
I am not registered as a business.
Help.

Apparently, people are having trouble listing using the app at the moment.
It isn't saying you are a business though, it is simply a generic term eBay use for all sellers.

You have to remove all business policies then apparently you can list with the app again
this is a temporary glitch
see this thread
not sure it will solve the problem just passing info on to read

I got a message on the app telling me to use a browser, I think it was because I had policies set up for payment, returns and postage and assume I couldn't use them on the app anymore.
I used the ebay website on a desktop computer and was able to list.
I think you should be able to use the ebay website on a mobile or tablet to list but it's not easy.
Business policies are like templates that a seller (including a private seller, they do not mean they are just for business sellers) could use to set their default settings for postage i.e. tracked 48, returns i.e. yes or no and payment i.e. immediate payment.
The message on the app means that ebay want us to delete our business policies i.e. our listing preferences thereby opening the door to simple delivery without any of our business policies in the way.
I only set up policies for payment, postage and returns recently and it was a lot quicker when listing, now it seems they'll be useless as simple delivery takes over.

It's not a temporary glitch, it's a permanent change. Private sellers need to opt out of Business Policies to be able to complete listings on the app. If you keep Business Policies then you can only list on the web browser going forward.
See FAQs here: Simple Delivery | UK Seller Centre
"Can I still use business policies?
Starting 7 April, certain features on the eBay app will no longer be supported. This includes business policies, the ability to set a handling time of more than 3 days, adding a custom SKU, subtitle, and Global Trade Item Number, and using the Gallery Plus feature.
You’ll still be able to use business policies when listing through your web browser, but if you’d prefer to list using the app, you can disable business policies in My eBay. The policies set on your existing listings will not be affected."

Hi all,
Just to clarify, this is not a technical issue. The app is not currently set up for business policies due to a recent update, if you wish to do this you would need to log in from the browser of your mobile device or computer, where all features/options are supported.
Thank you,
Marco
