What are E-Bay doing ?

Totally confused what postage I am to pay for my listings.

Today an item i listed 5 years ago at £9.99 sold but I was forced to pay thu simple delivery at £2.72 9. I  would normally sent this out with a 2nd class large letter stamp at £1.55.

Another item  (a coin) listed 2 years ago (to be sent out as al arge letter) let me send direct and stamp it with a 2nd class large letter stamp.

Why can't we get a deffinitive statement from ebay what is going on and what can we expect to pay for our listings?

Have you read all the SD guidance including the FAQs?

Re: What are E-Bay doing ?

If you haven't found all the info, here's some reading matter explaining Simple Delivery, which is now mandatory for all Private sellers:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/sellercentre/postage/simple-delivery?mkevt=1&mkpid=2&emsid=0&mkcid=8&bu=43952...

eBay announced a new payout system, which came in on the 6th August.  Now,  when the buyer pays you your payout is released within 24 hours,  that is,  if your account is in good standing,  with no more than 2 defects received in 12 months,  and at least 10 completed sales with a total of £150 or more within the last 5 years.

Basically, you need a good long standing seller account , and your payout is sent out as above.

Surely, you mean all the latest SD guidance?

Anyone reading last week's would be completely out of step.

And given how often it changes would you recommend reading the guidance at least once a day or just every couple of weeks? 😉

Re: What are E-Bay doing ?

Yes, there is an eBay glitch as to which categories are eligible for Private Sellers to choose Custom Postage for Large Letter 2nd Class Royal Mail items. Generally anything £10 or under, weighing 100g or less, and that fits Large Letter size should automatically offer Sellers the option to choose Custom Postage during listing. But some categories still don't have this. I spoke to eBay in June and they are 'working on it'.

Personally I flag up the lack of Custom Postage in each listing where it comes up for me. I have noticed some categories added a few weeks after flagging up technical glitches. So keep reporting these to eBay, please.
