Help required for an ageing..very quickly eBayer (72)

I don't think there is such an option. The communication preferences for selling activity is here but I can only see a box for "Item sold"; there doesn't appear to be one for "Bid received".

You could use another email address for your eBay account, that way any notifications would go that account and not your main email address.

There are usually ways to block or auto-delete e-mails whose subject line contains particular words or phrases. Exactly how would depend on how you handle your e-mail.
As 4_Bathrooms says above there isn't a box to tick or un-tick for e-mails about a bid being received but that said I've never received such a thing.

There used to be a box to uncheck in Settings > Notifications > Selling notifications > Auction notifications

These "Great news, you received a bid on your item" emails started spamming my mailbox around 6pm yesterday. I list a lot of auctions so my mailbox flooded with these completely useless emails already. Listed 63 auctions today - so that's 63 more useless emails heading my way.
I asked how to disable these in the Weekly Chat with the eBay Community Team today and marco@ebay is going to find out how we can stop eBay spam flood.
I KNOW I can setup a carefully created Exchange Server rule to automatically bin these, they are coming from the generic ebay@ebay.com but there is a long enough fixed text string in every one that I can setup a rule to safely delete these spam emails without accidentally deleting anything else, but this should NOT be necessary.
Hopefully Marco gets back to confirm these are been disabled whilst the person who implemented them realises they need to also add the appropriate opt out to the eBay communication preferences settings page.

I don't use auctions much, so the last one I had was in April - there was an unsubscribe link in it - does that not work? I don't know if it affects other communications, you may want to keep.

Look forward to their solutions!
