Unexpected listing fees

Hi guys my account was hit with over 100 listing fees of £0.35 in the last day of July 2025. I haven't gone over my monthly limit of free listings and I haven't done any upgraded listings or short auctions.

It's supposed to be free to sell, right?

Has anyone else had unexpected fees charged lately?

Re: Unexpected listing fees

35p does sound like you used some optional listing upgrade a subtitle or 3 day auction?  You have a 1000 listings are you sure some are not newly listed BIN items ?

Does the breakdown of transactions in your payment summary explain the fees, here:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/sh/fin/transactions

Access to your account is need so you'll need to contact eBay Customer Services for them to explain further.

This is the easiest and quickest way to contact eBay Customer Services, for a Call Back option.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/eua?id=5275&mkevt=1&mkpid

Lines open 8 a.m. - 10 p.m. on weekdays

9 a.m. - 6 p.m. on weekends.

Automated agents will be available on chat outside of the above hours.

I recommend contacting CS first thing in the morning as there's more chance of Dublin answering.

Re: Unexpected listing fees

Thanks for getting back to me. There are no upgrades like subtitle and I don't use any 3 day auctions.

I stay within my monthly free allowance for BIN. The fees were charged out of the blue on existing listings on the last day of July. Every estimated listing fee showed £0.00 at point of listing. I have contacted customer support they say they'll give me an answer in writing.

Re: Unexpected listing fees

On the two threads below users have been reported being charged fees when they revise an existing listing

https://community.ebay.co.uk/t5/Seller-Central/ebay-now-charging-to-revise-listings/td-p/7901224

https://community.ebay.co.uk/t5/Technical-Issues/Listings-added-recently-as-quot-0-00-listing-fee-qu...

It sounds like the common factor is that the users have used up their free listing allowance and that ebay is somehow seeing these changes as new listings and so charging a listing fee - not that they should be, it seems like a glitch or a bug.

Is it possible that you have edited 100 listings at a time when you have used your free listing allocation?

Re: Unexpected listing fees

Thank you very much for this answer. Very possibly this is what has happened to me. It strikes me as against the rules though! I have rigorously stayed within my free limit and eBay state quite clearly there is no fee for amending an existing listing. I hope it's just a glitch and they find a solution otherwise it's hard to trust eBay.

Yes, it doesn't seem like there has been a policy change so most likely a glitch. If you use the link tressygirl gave above you may be able to see the listings that the fees have been charged for and when the charges were made.  If you can show that these are listing fees but have been chraged after the listings have started you may be able to pass the item ids to customer services and have them credit the fees.
