So usually when I sell multiple items to a buyer I send them an invoice and adjust the postage accordingly - there is no such option there at the moment - there is a link to combine items so I click on that and then try and collate them there and get this message
Solved! Go to Solution.

Me too. I was told I would be notified when it is going to be fixed. Was told I would be notified, but seems only those who complain will be notified. Very strange. Plus there are no notices on the System Outages.
Apparently they are working on it now. AND as I said they will notify me. Not told when like 24 - 48 hours.
Just
I’m extremely sorry for the inconvenience this has caused to you. This is a confirmed technical issue on eBay and we have coordinated with our technical team and they have informed us that they are currently resolving this in high priority.

Ebay customer services are well known master's of b/s, they tell the caller ANYTHING to get them OFF the phone and not bothering them anymore.

I can't send invoices either, when the buyer is in the UK (where I am). I can send an invoice to overseas buyers, which is a bit weird. It probably has something to do with private seller buyer protection fees that has just come in - which doesn't apply to overseas buyers.

The introduction of BPF has caused this issue and Ebay have turned off the Combine Postage facility while they find a solution.
Yesterday, having sold four items at auction to the same buyer and being unable to produce an invoice reflecting combined postage, with the buyers agreement I cancelled the four items and relisted them all as one buy it now sale, which was completed.
Result, my buyer got all his items saving himself three lots of BPF fees in the process, this must be impacting Ebay's income and no doubt they will find a fix soon.

It's 5 days later and it's still not working

Not only have I no invoices but today a buyer has been charged overseas postage and they live in Southampton.
I do not think its fair on me or the buyer

I made a point of downloading the copy of eBay's guidance on Offering Combining Postage on March 3rd, which was after the BPF changes. I now note that it has changed and it now says you have to enable combined invoices. I am not a seller currently so can't easily investigate their proposed course of action but do wonder whether this magically doesn't work for Private Sellers.
If so, it isn't referenced in the page which is here. I am also not aware that the changes in this page have been communicated in any way to sellers. In addition, they did not update the page at the time of introduction of BPF as they should have done. Is it any wonder that there is so much discontent?

I had to do this a while before BPF, but some how it had been turned off. I've turned it back on, but still unable to send combined invoices. 😞

I have spoken with c/s and they advised that it has now been disengaged and know longer available. As of today, I will not have this option...How am I going to send my customers invoices and adjust the postage for combined orders? C/s were very short with me, refused to raise one manually and just said...yeah they now have to pay the full amount and you have to refund the difference back to them or they go to purchase history and ask for a total amount....all this puts the pressure on the buyer when it is totally unnecessary and very unprofessional....I have a buyer of 2 items who does not know how to do this, eventhou I have explained it several time and both orders now remain unpaid.....bad for buyers! bad for sellers! and bad for the reputation of ebay.......very annoyed.

It seems ebay have switched off the combined invoice option as they were not able to charge the 'buyer protection fee' on each item and don't care what hassle it brings to buyers and sellers.

They can make more money this way on fees cause they charge for every item as well as a percentage. Think the best solution is to make a new buy it now listing for all the items they won and 1 postage for the buyer when they are online and cancel the listing's they have won. Then it's 1 fee, 1 postage and no refund. It's more complicated but better for everyone.

'Ebay must realise there are other selling platforms out there'
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes, that's one of the reasons they're doing all this carp!
Ebay want to compete with Vinted (amongst others) who've been getting a bigger and bigger slice of the pie over the last couple of years.
Vinted is 'Free to sell' and also has the buyer's fee, so ebay think they ought to as well 🙁
So they've removed private seller's fees and are trying to replace them with ;
1. the buyer's fee .
2. interest made on the seller's money by using 'payment holds' .
3. money made on contracts with delivery companies within the 'Simple Delivery' system.
4. trying to make life really difficult for 'psuedo-private' sellers so they change to business accounts (which *do* pay fees.)
Unfortunately, messing about with an established and easily understood existing system, seems to be having the effect of driving more people to try the other sites ebay wish to compete with!
