Ebay was always heavily weighted in favour of the Buyers, but this new mad rule thats coming in next month about having to wait two days after delivery is confirmed to get paid is simply beyond the pale.
And sometimes delivery conformation never comes, apparently in that situation we have to wait 14 days to get our money.
This is disgusting and completely nuts. A self-destructive move from Ebay.

The new rules will initially only apply to electronic items, according to today's announcement.

Thanks for confirming that. I made the decision for RM to collect it tomorrow anyway. Their cut-off point for cancelling a collection is midnight, and if Ebay don't finish processing until nearly midnight, it would have been too late to change this.
This was my last sale for now - though I have left 4 lower value items listed for a day or two, to see what happens. I have removed all my other listings though and won't be adding anything else.

Hi, not had chance to read anything about that today. It sounds like a fairly broad range though - putting electronic in the search bar throws up a whole section of different categories in the left pane, unless Ebay have narrowed it down at all?

@papso22 just to be clear, the announcement only said that Buyer Fees were being phased in starting with electronics.
I wouldn't assume that means payments being delayed until after delivery will also only apply to electronics - as far as I can tell, that policy will still be going into effect for all private sellers across all categories tomorrow, they've just changed the timeframe for items £10 or less.

No time like the present 😃

Me too. Three orders went today and I have a return to send back. Then that’s it.

Same! The reason I don’t use Vinted is because there’s no large letter options on their forced delivery options. So I’m screwed here, can’t send individual comics via small parcel prices.

So when does SD start showing up when you relist or hit "sell similar" on your old listing ??
Tried once on my old listing and SD isn't showing up yet.
I'm going to try and opt out of it as long as possible.

...soon the only way to opt out of Simple Delivery and painfully slow payments is to not sell via eBay.

Sadly, there's nowhere better to sell than ebay. And ebay knows this.
All other selling sites has considerable downsides to them.

Depends what you are selling - and certainly eBay need buyers as well as sellers for the site to function...and as far as I can see, with 1000's of sellers reporting no sales or a huge reduction in sales, even businesses... buyers are few and far between, whether this is the impact of the economy or people are sourcing elsewhere it does not matter really - it looks like eBay has lost its shine?

You're so wrong. That's what eBay want people to think.
I sold 2 items earlier this morning on another auction site that still allows PayPal and received £167.59 in my PayPal balance INSTANTLY.
Those items had been on eBay for 2 years, even reducing their prices by £20 did nothing and people (or bots) just watched to the bitter end and DID NOTHING.
eBay's now OK if you don't need quick money and you are prepared to let them tell you what delivery service you are allowed to use on a rarely sold item as sales on eBay are now every once in a blue moon when they eventually decide to show your items briefly for a few hours in their manipulated and overpopulated searches which seems to show only Chinese seller stuff as a main priority...

Hi

I would be interested in knowing that too but probably not able to mention them on here?

Not yet. If you were not included in the pilot scheme eBay have said SD will come in sometime before the end of this quarter (so end of March).
It will be for all private sellers on all ‘eligible’ listings, which at the moment and as usual seems to be everything except vehicles.

SD will start from the 10th next week

A very similar name and they actually started before Ebay in UK but never advertise.

I’ve lost count the number of times I get messages saying “the parcel never arrived”, they try it cos they don’t have to sign for it, but I always get proof of postage which gives you a tracking number so I can see when it’s been delivered. This is going to be a complete nightmare. What happens if they get the item and they change their mind or item doesn’t fit. They can stop the payment?? Will look elsewhere to sell
